After couple steadying breaths he cracked open one eye, unsure when he’d closed them in the midst of the commotion but this detail was forgotten when Taehyung managed to make out a blur of blond hair far too close, attempt to turn head over to the side to figure out the source failing with his nose bumping against something– someone. A laugh, abrupt and higher in pitch pushed through as he snuggled against the warm body, bones resembling scarily the feeling of those jelly shots he’d downed earlier, not entirely a bad thing he decided then.
namjoon, despite contrary belief and near-constant belittlement from one min yoongi, does have fun. he has a life outside of his job, he tries to have a sex life, and he isn’t a complete stiff. he tries, he does!
sometimes, though, that gets him into messes like this.
he’s pleasantly inebriated enough-- just enough alcohol in his system to not be overwhelmed by the rush of emotions every time he brushed against someone, maybe even enjoying the high. there’s something exhilarating, about letting go like this-- allowing himself to indulge, briefly drowning in every fleeting feeling. yoongi would think it’s irresponsible, for namjoon to let his ability take the reins like this, but he can’t find himself to care.
for once, he was relaxed, smile easy and the current of his own feelings calm, drunk on the feelings pressing around him. exhilaration, happiness, jubilation, he can’t even bring himself to mind the dirtiest things that he comes across--
but of course, that comes crashing down. almost literally, in the form of some skinny kid barreling into him and knocking namjoon away from his thoughts, bringing him back to reality. instinctively, one arm finds itself dropping to curl the boy protectively towards him, before he even realizes what’s happening, just because of how he is-- pulling him away, out of the heat of the crowd, off to the sidelines where namjoon can clear his head and figure out who this kid is that’s plastered to his hip.
“hello,” he said, hoarsely, blinking through the haze of alcohol and vaguely attempting to swim through the current of the boy’s emotions, “can i, um, help you?”
no matter what, namjoon always puts others first.
The younger girl slides into one of the empty bar stools, her eyes cast down and not looking at the older boy. She holds some flowers up towards him, biting on her bottom lip before she speaks, "I'm sorry about how I acted at the Spring Festival."
“flowers,” he replied dubiously, raising an eyebrow-- glancing around, because he’s sure one of his coworkers would love to tease him about a girl bringing him flowers while he’s at work. or yoongi. thank god yoongi wasn’t here. he sighs, before gently shaking his head, smiling gently in hopes that would ease her fears. “i’m not mad, don’t worry about it, okay? no need to bring flowers-- they probably fit better in your hands, anyways. i’m not much of a flowers guy unless i’m giving them to others in some poor attempt to flirt with them-- but don’t worry about me.” he’s trying to not be awkward about this, okay?

Q
Send Q for a SOCIAL MEDIA headcanon.
namjoon is terrible with keeping up with social media of any kind-- he’s never had the patience to remember to do that kind of thing, since he’s always been rather friendless and therefore had no reason to really want to use any of those accounts. of course, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them-- he just checks once a year. six months, if you’re lucky. he’s so terrible at it someone save him.
H
Send H for a RELIGION headcanon.
namjoon doesn’t believe in god, although he was raised in a christian home. if anything, he’s frightened of what’s out there, if there even is anything-- he has a belief that there might be something, somewhere, but nothing concrete. he’s never wholeheartedly subscribed to any kind of structured faith, no form of organized religion, and it’s unlikely he’ll ever change unless something else does.
D
Send D for an ANGER headcanon.
it’s not the easiest thing in the world to anger namjoon, as he has the patience of an angel-- literally. he’s one of the most caring people in eden, although he likes to dismiss or deny it, and he often goes out of his own way to help others even if his own opinion considering them isn’t necessarily the most positive one. but once he does get angry, it’s unbridled-- and often backed by sadness, because he only truly gets upset when he’s been hurt. really, honestly hurt. it’s his way of lashing out, getting whatever it is that hurt him away, away, away. he’s never had a good way to cope with these things.
K
Send K for a HABIT/NERVOUS TIC headcanon.
namjoon plays with his hands a lot-- that’s his thing, whether it’s because he’s anxious, upset, or so on. he’s constantly fiddling with his gloves, pinching the material between his fingers and rubbing it around, etc. it’s something that he’s done since long, long before eden-- following him into this new world, a sense of familiarity about himself when everything else is seemingly different. with everything else, he appreciates at least that-- the only other thing that seems to be the same past his identity that’s come here with him is yoongi, and he clings to familiarity desperately, so it’s doubtful he’ll ever try to break this habit anytime soon.

the food may be shit, but at least it’s something, ( ; namjoon commented, humming. it’s been a long week-- yoongi is fucking traumatized, and namjoon’s been doing his best to help him cope with it, but sometimes you just need to eat your stress away. this is a perfect opportunity to do exactly that. ) i’m just glad they aren’t feeding us, like-- mystery meat, or anything. i guess this is the best they could scrounge up after a massive power outage, but still-- i’m not used this kind of food anymore. i don’t think anyone is. ( ; ah, the pros of living in a sort-of utopia. )
* playing in the dark
darkness.
it’s a greedy substance, one which swallows everything around it, submerges them until they drown in nothingness. namjoon’s always been afraid of the dark-- who knew what lurked around the corner, when your eyes could not belie it’s contents?
that’s why, when the lights went out, namjoon did not go outside. he refused, clinging to yoongi and his (revoltingly outdated) flashlight for support. yoongi had complained plenty about it, but they both quieted when they heard the shouting outside, the waves of people, the sounds of a riot.
of course, they’d have to go outside, eventually. they were both hungry, and they had to get food at some point once they no longer had access to the luxury of being able to have it produced for you, out of a space in the wall.
so that’s why namjoon’s fingers are tangled into yoongi’s, careful, as he tries to dissuade him from doing exactly what they needed to do. “hyung,” he breathed out, shaky, tugging on his hand, “hyung, do we really have to go out there?” he tried for a nervous laugh-- he didn’t want to seem as scared as he really was. “we have plenty of bread to last us until the lights go back on, and i don’t think it’d be safe to go out right now.” sure, it’d quieted down-- but namjoon was still wary.
“really,” he urged, one last final try. “let’s go back into your room...”

ecxtaehyun:
A blink. Another blink.
No— this wasn’t disorientation— and no, this wasn’t a dream, either. He still couldn’t help but /feel/ Namjoon, and it had frustrated him to no end. Of course— the more his friend (?) divulged in the details of his ability, the more Taehyun could feel his heart sinking to his stomach.
"Like hell you warned me…" Well, technically— Namjoon probably did warn him. Taehyun simply wasn’t in the state to listen. At the very least, he’d managed to stave off hunger for the next while (probably a week or so, judging by his current condition). He began fixing his hair rather obsessively, none too pleased at the thought of ‘imprinting’.
World’s best stalker. God damn. He wasn’t ready for any of this bullshit. It was getting too late (early?) for him to properly process anything— but he knew he’d have to deal with this for a while. At the very least, he should be able to get a general gist of what the fuck he’d just gotten himself into before heading back home for a rest.
Running his fingers through his hair— he does his best to simply keep himself calmed. “I’ve got my own stabilizers— back at my dor— ….” Oh. Wait. Namjoon was still bleeding from the neck. Perhaps he should do something to aid him.
On the other hand…
"I’m gonna end up licking your neck if I get too close. I hope you know that. You can’t put a post in front of a cat and expect it not to scratch." His lips curled into a line— and he simply decides to make his way over to Namjoon’s car nonetheless.
"Now drive me home before I bite you again."
namjoon watches taehyun, half-astonished and half-unsurprised at the fact that the other male blatantly turned down any idea of actually helping him. he stared at him, as he started walking, still feeling the blood ooze against his palm. “you ungrateful shit--” he exhaled sharply, letting his head fall back gently and closing his eyes, breathing through his nose. taehyun just... expected namjoon to jump up and be functional, after losing that much blood in combination with nearly being overwhelmed by taehyun’s... interesting emotions. astounding.
“you can’t get in there without me,” he said flatly, voice a little raw, and he made an attempt to sit up, ignoring the subtle dizziness tinting everything, or the way he lurched too far to the side if he wasn’t careful. “if you can make-- this-- stop bleeding, i don’t care what you do, but i can’t do shit on my own for awhile.”
he doesn’t really sound that mad, though-- even as he leaned his shoulder against the nearby wall, still sitting, shirt vivid with the blood that had leaked onto his shoulder and chest. (and he knew exactly where taehyun was-- and waited, waited for him to come back, instead of just leaving namjoon here.) “the least you could do is help me into my own car, it’s not like i didn’t just let you take probably a quart of my blood so you wouldn’t assault anyone on the street, or anything.”
the amount of patience namjoon has is incredible. (it comes with living with one min yoongi, to be honest.)
he considers calling yoongi. he also considers the fact that yoongi would shred taehyun into ribbons if he found out. the option is varying levels of tempting, but not on a serious level.
“you have to be able to do something,” he says quietly, shutting his eyes and trying to organize his thoughts into something coherent. “do i have to offer up something else so that you don’t leave me here to bleed to death on the concrete, taehyun?”
he’s less coherent than he seems, words solid but vision still hazed, and he doesn’t dare try to move any more than absolute necessary on his own.
yoongi’s going to be fucking pissed.
pressure.
ecxkrystal:
Krystal only watches as he fills the cup with a clear liquid. It was water, which was to be expected. She didn’t need to be getting wasted, and it was probably clear that she had never drunk before. After all, aren’t bartenders good at this sort of thing? As he slides the glass over to her, she smiles up at him. Letting her finger trail around the rim of the cup, she hums for a moment, listening as he speaks, “I don’t drink much, never have if I’m entirely honest… Aw, you sound like a sweet guy; I take it you’re used to dealing with the drunk shit that goes around here?” The lilt in her tone was teasing and carefree.
She takes a look around the bar, her brows furrowing in thought. It seemed familiar, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Had she been here before? And if she had, why was she here? Something had drawn her here, and it couldn’t have just been because she wanted to mingle in a bar. When she hears the bartender speak again, she turns back to look at him, a small smile on her lips. “Would it be cliche to say that I was,” She pauses, “’drawn here’?” She makes air quotes around the words ‘drawn here’. She shrugs, then nods at the new bit of information that he throws on, almost like an after thought. “Maybe I’ll take you up on your deal.”
“most bartenders usually are,” he hummed back, offering a smile in response, eyes crinkling into crescents. “our job is to get people drunk-- i just take it upon myself to make sure those people get drunk safely, and that they’re taken care of. most people don’t do that.”
honestly, though, most of his life revolves around his work somehow, excluding maybe yoongi. people knew him from his job. people consistently met him through his job. he was kim namjoon, the sweet bartender who actually tried to be nice to people.
(just let him get laid without carrying around the guilt of knowing he could invade that person’s privacy for the rest of their life and even after, hyper aware of their location no matter where they were. please.)
he snorts at her next sentence-- glancing around at the high-end bar, shinier and nicer kept than most of the other ones in jeonnal. “you were probably drawn by the lack of puke on the front door,” he joked, “or maybe you just couldn’t smell it, who knows. bars aren’t exactly pretty places most of the time.”
namjoon happened to refuse to work in a dump. so he made sure his bar was nice-- if it went to shit, he was leaving. end of story. there’s just a few things that will set him off, and filth is one of them. gross.

ecxtaehyun:
There was one major disadvantage Taehyun always faced— whether with his ability or without. If anyone had a single strand of kindness in their hearts, Taehyun would always find ways to abuse them in some way, shape or form.
Whether it be by banging them, or simply by jumping them in the streets and devouring them just like this— Taehyun always found some way to manipulate or inflict pain upon the most undeserving people. Namjoon was selfless— always caring for others before himself… and well. The point is made.
It only takes about a mouthful or two before he lowered from his frantic state. Of course— it didn’t move him away. He knew— he knew he had to get as much as he could out of Namjoon before he could let go. The chances of him finding someone else willing enough to supply him were slim— and he wanted to buy himself as much time as possible.
Partway through the procedure, he began… feeling things. Strange things. It wasn’t something he’d anticipated— nor something he’d taken into consideration. Not the smartest thing he’d done— but again. A fatal flaw. He could feel— Namjoon? If Namjoon was an emotion, at least. He didn’t understand what was going on— and more importantly, he couldn’t shake off the undeniable feeling that began filling him.
Namjoon’s words were enough for him to pull back.
Within moments, he’d fallen back, a sharp gasp let out— practically begging for air to fill his lungs again.
He’d ingested enough for him to get by— that wasn’t an issue. The issue lay in his racing chest. The feeling that he’d somehow made a /mark/ on Namjoon’s being— the feeling of… whatever it was he was feeling.
He figured it was Namjoon’s ability. He decided to stare until an explanation was given.
at least partially, namjoon was used to be used. that was the majority of his upbringing, after all-- maybe that’s why he made it so easy for others to step on him.
but he never let himself get squashed. if there was one positive thing about it, it was that he knew he could bounce back from anything-- maybe a little scarred, and it might take a few weeks of panic attacks and shaking hands, but he’d be okay. eventually. (he’s not as strong as he tries to make himself out to be.)
he can feel the moment taehyun pulls away-- namjoon gasps as well, a collective noise, all of those overwhelming feelings dissipating until he no longer felt like he was fizzing at the fingertips with taehyun’s empathetic consciousness. his neck was slick, and namjoon drew up one shaking hand to clasp over the open wound, shivering at how cold he suddenly felt.
silence.
all namjoon can process, at the moment, is the borderline oppressive away taehyun dominates his senses, hyperaware of the fact that he was attuned to the dj, right in front of him. “f--... fuck,” he breathed out, weak, trying to pull himself up into a sitting position-- and promptly being winded by a wave of dizziness, returning to his place on his back, staring up at the night sky. “i’m-- guessing you imprinted on me,” he said slowly, and there’s an awkward, low laugh, pained from the pulsing distraction still leaking against his palm. “have fun. i can’t say i didn’t warn you.”
because namjoon knew exactly what taehyun was feeling right now-- whether it was the way the dj stared at him, gaze unbreakable, or the past experience, it was something he was all too familiar with. “long story short, you’re going to be the world’s best stalker until that wears off. and since you just imprinted on me, you’re going to have a really hard time thinking about anything that isn’t me for awhile.” cue terrible, terrible, cringe-worthy wink, that isn’t even as playful as it usually would be if namjoon wasn’t in so much fucking pain. (assumed) heterosexuality or not, namjoon could play around too, but clearly now was not one of those times.
“i have p-- fuck... power stabilizers in my car, if you want them,” he breathed out, closing his eyes. “unfortunately, i don’t have bandages to wrap... this... up. so if you could--” vague hand gesture. “help, that’d... be really great.”
namjoon, for the moment, excluded the part about empathy. he’d get into that later, when he wasn’t bleeding on the concrete, cracking jokes with a light head and probably missing a lot more than a pint of blood.

ecxyoongi:
( ‘ yoongi tries not to snort at namjoon’s choice in words, shaking out the numb feeling in his foot before shuffling into the kitchen. he slips out last night’s pair of earplugs, humming in acknowledgement. ) lucky. that’s debatable. ( ‘ of course he’s lying. namjoon is a constant in yoongi’s new life now— and it’s good, at least, to wake up in a time when it isn’t as loud even with his earplugs off, when the chatter of their neighbors isn’t as lively as it gets during the evenings. he waves off the younger’s threats, dismissing every single word as he usually does until he turns around at namjoon’s request. he meets his eye for a good few seconds before reaching out, tickling him under his chin and clicking his tongue. ) thank you, my pet. ( ‘ and namjoon can barely catch a glimpse of the shit-eating grin yoongi wears right after— because the elder closes the door in his face before he can let namjoon say anything else. ) … ( ’ he sniffs himself, wrinkling his nose. god, he really does need to wash up. )
( ; namjoon’s eyes trail after yoongi around their small living space, and he has a retort ready for yoongi before he’s silenced by the utterly dehumanizing gesture that was-- ) hey-- ( ; and hell, his face was so red, as he fumed at the door shut in his face. what the fuck. kim namjoon is gonna fucking fight you, min yoongi, watch your back. he stands there looking like a buffoon for a few more moments before he pulls away, scowling, seriously considering poisoning yoongi’s meat. hell yeah, kill the roommate.
he doesn’t do it. but he enjoys entertaining the thought.
the bulgogi doesn’t take terribly long to make, and he prepares it casually, using preseasoned meat to do most of the job for him. yoongi would probably bitch him out for not grilling it, but whatever-- meat was still meat.
he’s already munching on a piece when yoongi trails back out of the bathroom, later, and he sniffs at the older male, harrumphing slightly. ) i should hold the food hostage, ( ; he threatens, ) for you being so ungrateful. ( ; he really should. )

ecxtaehyun:
Thinking through his actions wasn’t one of his strong points— but that particular aspect of him only worsened when he was in this particular state. No— he wasn’t quite feral yet— but he was almost there. Almost.
'Calm down, Nam Taehyun. Stop thinking like that. You can do this. Namjoon's going to help you through this. Just breathe. Just breathe. In— out—'
Long fingers trembled— and he’d tossed his head back against whatever surface was behind him. He’d done his best to listen carefully to Namjoon— but he’d only caught bits and pieces. Yoongi— of course, Yoongi wouldn’t let him dive in. Yoongi’s abilities held far too many weaknesses, anyway— he simply wouldn’t be able to go about his daily routine being overly sensitive to sound. Of course, he never really knew the specifics of what his ability was— but seeing him crumble down in a noisy atmosphere was all the proof he needed.
And— … well, Namjoon was right. Picking any random person off the street was dangerous. Despite knowing this perfectly well, it didn’t stop him from letting out a low hiss in protest. He didn’t care.
'Breathe, Taehyun. Stop. Just take in a breath.'
Of course, that last offer had stuck a particular cord. It was, of course, the most viable option in his current situation. Namjoon. Usually he’d stop and think. He’d consider his options— he’d actually bother to think about … well, what Namjoon’s ability was.
Did he care? Well, not particularly, no. He was desperate.
It didn’t take any consideration as his eyes darkened— and within moments, the man in front of him seemingly turned into a fresh morsel— just waiting to be taken. His neck was long, inviting— and Taehyun… well…
"Stay still."
Within seconds, he’d practically pounced over Namjoon, using his body weight to keep him pressed against the concrete beneath him. Large hands pressed his chest down— and his fangs had somehow made incisions directly into Namjoon’s skin.
The second he felt a metallic taste on his tongue, a wave of pleasure filled his veins.
quite frankly, namjoon shouldn’t have expected any better. shame on him, he’s known taehyun long enough to know what happens when he gets like this-- and reasoning with anyone who was that close to the edge was always a gamble.
the best thing he can ask for is that this will sate taehyun for awhile until he can get back on his feet and-- well. feed however it was he normally did.
he sees the change in taehyun’s expression immediately-- the frazzled expression, laced with pain, shifted abruptly, hyper focusing on namjoon. stay still. and namjoon doesn’t have the time to process the order, let alone do anything but listen to it-- his head is being slammed back on the concrete and the only thought he can manage is fuck, this is a brand new shirt, before he seizes up in pain and his breath is knocked out of him in one clean moment.
and again, he shouldn’t have expected any better.
what he had thought it might be like, was maybe something akin to taking blood through a needle-- uncomfortable, but not this painful. namjoon’s vision is dizzy as he sucks in sharp breaths, trying not to let himself panic. this is taehyun-- and taehyun won’t kill him, and the most he can do is try to process all of the emotions flooding through him without absorbing it. the first thing, first and foremost, is an undeniable pleasure that leaves namjoon even more winded, like a good high, or--
he’d rather not go any further.
he moves on, using taehyun’s emotions as a distraction from the pulsing pain in his neck, willing it to fade to a dull throbbing, piecing through his own thoughts. primarily, there’s the stark awareness he had towards the dj, like a magnet, now that he’d imprinted on him, demanding all of his attention. secondly, there was the feelings pouring into him, the ones he was trying to ignore-- and then there was his own panic, rising up in the pit of his stomach while he tried to fight it down.
and he can’t even tell how long it’s been before it’s too much, too much, too much, and he’s finally starting to tremble, one hand going up to claw at taehyun’s arm, sucking in another greedy breath. “taehyun-- t-taehyun, please--” he rasped out, and he tries to push some of his own panic into the other male to make him stop, please, because he’s being overwhelmed and it’s too much.
it’s not even from the loss of blood-- well, maybe, he can’t tell-- but the swirl of taehyun invading his veins and making namjoon choke. there’s too much skin-to-skin contact, and he can’t even process his own feelings anymore. “please...”
ecxminho:
“you can’t really start forgetting until the next morning, but fine, you win.” he eventually complies with the whole vying for alcohol situation, and sips at his water slowly. the cool drink is a nice refresher when he’s starting to feel too warm, too jumbled in the head. somewhere in it all minho realizes that he’d rather avoid resembling a petulant child, as much as he’d like to sprawl over the bar and just lie there for a while.
he does the next best thing, crossing his arms over the counter top to prop himself up a little. the place is pretty empty, he notices once he’s taken a look around, which means his friends probably left a while ago. those assholes. “shit. alright, yeah. you’re right. i should get home,” he says once he’s facing forward again, pressing the pads of his thumb and finger against his closed eyes.
"how much time have i got to sober up?" he asks, even though his drinks are only starting to catch up with him.
nobody but the hardcore alcoholics ever resisted namjoon’s orders to sober up for any longer than a few minutes, at best-- he was well-known to be level-headed, and likely the most responsible person in the club. so nobody but the most stubborn would ever try to contradict him, and even so, namjoon would never relent; they wouldn’t get anymore alcohol from him, and if they chose to lumber off and get their fix somewhere else, then so be it.
at least namjoon tried.
“i’d say a few hours,” is his response, while he runs a sweeping gaze across the sparsely populated bar. “one or two, but if you head home you’ll probably knock out pretty easily, so it’s up to you.” and namjoon notes the way minho is looking around-- looking for someone, maybe? he quirks a smile, leaning over to face him.
“i’m guessing you don’t have a ride-- how about this, stick around until i lock up and i’ll take you home, yeah?” shoulder pat, before he pulls back, adjusting the loosely-buttoned collar of his shirt (because fuck, it got hot sometimes in the club, literally) and finishing with the last of the dishes. “you’ll have to give me your address, if you don’t mind sharing. i could also call a cab, but i don’t know any that are running at this hour, and you’ll get home faster than a bus.”
it’s not unusual for namjoon to give people rides home, so he takes it in stride, not even skipping a beat.
