Hiatus Letter

I love every single one of you all, but I’m going through some stuff, and what’s best for me right now is not being here. I need to go make some new friends, and start loving myself more than I do now. Locking myself in my room to blog isn’t the way to go about that.

This hiatus will probably last for a month.

I hope that I’ll be back, and I hope you all remember me when I return.

After I reblog this post to all of my blogs, I will disappear.

To my closer friends and partners, thank you for making me happy, and giving me motivation to keep going.

She gave him a concerned look, but she nodded and made herself comfortable under the blankets. “Thank you, Eddie. For everything. I’ll see you in the morning. Goodnight you guys.”

“Night.” He walks out, closing the door behind him. He finds a comfortable position on the couch, pillow behind his head, blanket over himself. He falls asleep quickly, but wouldn’t stay asleep for long.

In the morning, the pillow and blanket have been thrown on the floor, leaving a quite cold Eddie curled up, face pressed against the back of the couch. His hair is a mess, and he’s missing his pants, which are hanging over the back of the couch, leaving him in his T-shirt and a pair of grey boxers. He’s still sleeping, though. He wouldn’t be the first to wake up.

When Adelaide woke up in the morning, she went to the kitchen to get some water. As she passed through the living room, she chuckled at the sight of the pantsless Eddie and she picked him blanket up off of the floor and tucked it around him.

When Eddie feels the blanket being wrapped around him, he rolls over, pushing it off of him. Something about his face, now visible, looks off. Even though he should have slept, the dark circles under his eyes are still there, and may even be a bit darker. His cheeks have weird streaks on them, like he was… crying? The tops of his knees are scraped up, and his socks have black ashy stuff on the bottoms of his feet.

After getting her glass of water, she saw Eddie had knocked the blanket off again and, out of habit, she sat down on the couch and wrapped the blanket back around Eddie before pulling him into her lap. She leaned his head on your shoulder and rubber his back as her other arm remained tucked under his knees as she kissed his forehead.

“Nnnggghh…” He slowly blinked, opening his eyes. “Wha… Hmm? Adelaide…?” He’s confused, having expected, as usual, to wake up alone.

Adelaide had begun to gently run her fingers through his hair as he stirred and she shushed him quietly. “Shh, you’re okay, Eddie. Just go back to sleep, okay?”

Eddie’s really confused, and tries to gently push her off him, sitting up. “S-Seriously, the fuck are you doing?” He rubs his eyes sleepily.

She shook her head and pulled the tired man back down to lean against her chest as she sighed. “Judging from the state of your body, you didn’t get much sleep last night, and when I walked by, you seemed cold and uncomfortable. Just go back to sleep, Eddie. Please.”

He doesn’t resist being pulled down, and leans into her. “But… I don’t…” He yawns. “I don’t wanna… sleep…” His eyes start to close, contradicting his statement as he slowly falls back asleep.

She giggled quietly as he fell asleep again, shaking her head. “You’re a bad liar, Eddie,” she whispered, making sure he was completely covered by the blanket. She hummed quietly and rubbed his back as he slept, allowing herself to also fall asleep, leaning her head on his.

A couple hours later, Eddie starts gently spazzing the fuck out. That’s all you need to know. Like, he’s being super twitchy, and looks mentally and physically uncomfortable.

When Eddie began to twitch, Adelaide immediately woke up, frowning. She pulled Eddie closer to her and held him so that he wouldn’t twitch as much, running her fingers through his hair soothingly. “Eddie, hey can you hear me? It’s Adelaide. You’re okay,” she spoke softly.

He continues to twitch, even getting to the point where he thrashes a bit, wrapping his arms around his stomach. He’s grimacing, almost like he’s in pain. He lets out a low groan, leaning into Adelaide. “Nnggghhhh…”

Adelaide hugged him close, tucking his head underneath her chin as she gently rubbed his back while holding him. “It’s okay, Eddie. I’ve got you…” she whispered, comforting him as best as she could.

Eddie’s temperature has risen quite a bit, and he’s panting a bit, while continuing to twitch. Eventually, he opens his eyes, but winces and closes them again, clutching his stomach with another pitiful groan. “Nghh.. fuck..” From the way he’s acting, it seems like he might actually be in physical pain.

Especially without my brother and sister around, I might actually get sleep! But if you’re not ready to go to sleep, I’m fine with that too! I’ll take the couch, though.”

He nods. “Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be able to stay up any longer.” He smirks. “Haha, no. You get the bed. I usually sleep on the couch anyway. No arguing on that.” He takes a step back. “I’ll go clean up my crap so you can actually sleep in there.” He walks back to the bedroom.

“Too bad, I’m sleeping on the couch!” She laughed out as she ran over and flopped down on the couch. She grabbed the blanket Eddie had brought out and she wrapped it around her body, smirking. “See? I’m already comfortable!”

Eddie shakes his head, walking back over to her. His arms turn black, shifting into Venom’s arms, and before she can react, he wraps her up like a blanket burrito, shifting into Venom, except for his head, and then slinging her over his shoulder, walking to the bedroom. “Nope. I have infinite couch dibs.”

“No!” She giggled, trying to fight back against the symbiote as he threw her over his shoulder. “I refuse to sleep in the bed!” She continued to squirm and resist, mostly just to be a shit, as they went through the door and she tried to slow him down by sticking her foot out the door frame.

Eddie laughed as she tried to resist, and when she stuck her foot out, he just moved her foot and kept walking. When he goes to put her on the bed, he shifts back to normal, and her squirming put him off balance, causing him to drop her onto the bed, almost falling on top of her, but putting his hands out and keeping himself from falling, meaning that his face is inches from hers. 

He quickly pulls away, brushing off his embarrassment, and puts his hands on his hips. “I win. Couch dibs are always victorious.” He smirks. “Anyway, if you sleep on the couch, I’ll just sleep on the floor.” He shrugs.

Adelaide groaned in defeat as she as Eddie dropped her onto the bed, giggling at the fact that she made him lose his balance. “Fine, you win!” She pouted a little, rolling over onto her stomach. “And…you’re sure it’s okay? I can go home if you’d prefer…”

“No! I mean… stay. I want you to stay. Please.” He fidgets with the hem of his shirt. “A-Anyway, I’m used to sleeping on the couch. I do it pretty much every day…” His smile fades a bit, but he quickly brushes off the momentary mental discomfort.

“So, Ms. Blanket Burrito, do you want us to like, tuck you in or somethin?” He raises an eyebrow.

She cocked her head to the side, curious as to why he slept on the couch, though she giggled at the strange name that he called her, shaking her head. “No, you don’t need to tuck me in. But…why do you sleep on the couch?”

He tries to think of an excuse, his eyes darting to the floor, but then back to Adelaide. “Uh... c-closer to the fridge, I guess.” He takes a step back, towards the living room. “Anyway, sleep well. Get some rest. You probably need it after the hell of a day you’ve had.” He turns around to walk to the living room.

When he goes to put her on the bed, he shifts back to normal, and her squirming put him off balance, causing him to drop her onto the bed, almost falling on top of her, but putting his hands out and keeping himself from falling, meaning that his face is inches from hers.

One sec!” Before it can start up, he runs into the bedroom, coming back with some blankets and pillows, putting them over the couch, and one behind Addie to make her comfortable, before sitting down and spreading a fluffy blanket over them both. Venom, in his detached-ish form, (from the bridge scene, except smaller) comes out and rests his head on Eddie’s shoulder, smiling widely.

Under the blanket, Eddie’s hand is very close to Addie’s, but he doesn’t want to make things any more awkward, even though he wants to hold her hand.

She cocked her head to the side curiously as he ran back to the bedroom, though when he returned, a huge grin spread across her face. She could feel that Eddie’s hand was close to hers underneath the blanket, and she slowly slipped her hand into his, intertwining their fingers together as she leaned her head on his other shoulder.

He’s happy, and he hasn’t been happy like this for a long time.

She looked around for her phone, not wanting to get up and bother Eddie, but she knew she was going to have to contact her brother and sister before they ended up calling the police to look for her.

A police siren could be heard outside, though there was no reaction, since it was such a common sound, though a couple minutes later, there was a banging on Eddie’s door that startled Adelaide as her head snapped towards the door. “Police! Open up!!”

Eddie and Venom don’t realize that the police are here looking for Adelaide, and instead think that they’ve found out about Venom.

“WE WON’T GO BACK. THEY CAN’T TAKE US, WE WON’T LET THEM.”

Adelaide groaned at the sound of the banging, recognizing the voice immediately. She stood in front of Eddie and Venom, and she stood on the tips of her toes to cup his face with her hands. “Hey, you’re alright. He’s here for me, okay? Just relax,” she said sweetly as she took the hair tie from her hair, shaking her head in order to make her hair look like an absolute mess. She went to the door and opened it just a little, peeking out at the officer.

“Well shit, I wasn’t expecting you to answer the door!” The officer laughed, making Adelaide shake her head. “Well, you know the drill.”

“Yeah,” she replied, chuckling. The officer handed Adelaide his phone and she quickly dialled her sister’s number. “Hey, Lil. Yeah, I’m all good. My phone died is all. I forgot to ask to borrow a charger. I’ll see you in the morning, okay?” After talking on the phone for a moment longer, she hung up the phone and she handed it back to the officer, who said a quick goodbye and left.

She could feel that Eddie’s hand was close to hers underneath the blanket, and she slowly slipped her hand into his, intertwining their fingers together as she leaned her head on his other shoulder.

When she smiled, he smiled back, enjoying the way her eyes lit up when he brought out the blankets and pillows. Venom beamed at her when she giggled.

Feeling her fingers intertwine with his, he holds her hand, using barely any pressure, but enough for her to notice. He looks over at her head on his shoulder, and the movie starts, with Eddie’s body finally relaxing after the hell of the day he’s had.

He’s happy, and he hasn’t been happy like this for a long time.

She made herself comfortable against Eddie as the movie started, quietly singing along with the movie as she felt all of the tension drain from her body. She felt happy and relaxed in a way she hadn’t been in years. Trust be told, she’d never felt that relaxed before in her life, but it didn’t occur to her at that moment. She was just happy to be where she was.

Halfway through the movie, Eddie almost falls asleep, just due to the sheer exaustion of the day, but simply closed his eyes, listening to the movie, and listening to Addie’s breathing. Eddie was happy. Venom was happy that he was.

Adelaide could tell that Eddie was falling asleep and she found it quite amusing. She looked down at the scratched up watch on her wrist that told her how late it was and her eyes widened. I forgot to tell Lily and Tommy I wasn’t coming home til really late! Or not coming home at all tonight! Shit! She looked around for her phone, not wanting to get up and bother Eddie, but she knew she was going to have to contact her brother and sister before they ended up calling the police to look for her.

Eddie was pretty much fully asleep. Venom had sunk back into Eddie, and he started to sink back as he fell asleep, losing pressure on her hand, giving her a possible chance to get out without waking him up.

She slowly slipped her hand out of his to go find her phone, finding it in the bathroom since she’d taken it out of her pocket when she went to shower earlier. She brought her phone back to the living room as she tried to turn the device on before she realized it was dead.

She groaned softly and sat back down on the couch, head in her hands. A police siren could be heard outside, though there was no reaction, since it was such a common sound, though a couple minutes later, there was a banging on Eddie’s door that startled Adelaide as her head snapped towards the door. “Police! Open up!!”

Eddie’s head immediately snapped up. He stood up, looking towards the door. Venom’s blackness spread over him quickly, making the transformation smooth but fast. Venom lowers his voice, (so the police can’t really hear him,) words laced with a growl, but a noticeable hint of fear in the pauses. Eddie and Venom don’t realize that the police are here looking for Adelaide, and instead think that they’ve found out about Venom.

“WE WON’T GO BACK. THEY CAN’T TAKE US, WE WON’T LET THEM.”
