Given Slime Rancher 2's official release uhh fairly soon (tomorrow. Heavens help me) I figured I should jot down a couple predictions I think/ hope might happen here okay letsa GO
1. Gigi is Thora and Hobson's child/grandchild from the future
Okay so I think most people paying attention to the story have caught on to this idea or at least something similar; I mean the canonical time "warping" that seems to have occurred and Thora opening up about having a child with Hobson to Beatrix..
..(and other details, eg. Thora's scarf Gigi appears to be using as a cape) is naturally meant to lead one to it, the reason I personally lean to grandchild as opposed to simply child in this case is the mentionings of a grandmother in the GG logs and in her Grey Labyrinth conversations with Beatrix.
If this is true, Gigi doesn't actually seem to even know about Hobson as there's no mention of a grandfather, just a grandmother (Thora?) She never had a chance to meet. Hobson's presence always being shrouded in an air of mystery, even with his appearance (seriously. What does this bloke look like), and ohh... It Tickles me if thats so.
How she got to the future I assume is through Hobson's ancient device from the Glass Desert, which Gigi mentions trekking through..
..and ends up broken..
..because of her using of it.
Also regarding her usage of the research dones, which design belongs to Mochi, this is possibly either from something time related OR she's using the prismacore to access people's dreams somehow? The grey Labyrinth literally has a place called Dream Land and Mochi mentions the designs being something she's seen before in her *dreams*
(if this seems tenuously put together I APOLOGISE.. I still havent fully finished the Labyrinth yet lol-)
2. Beatrix writes a book.
Gigi mentioning reading a book about a "legendary explorer"..
..paired with Thora's suggestion that OUR legendary explorer (Beatrix!)..
..Writes a book makes me think these would be really cool little details if it's confirmed to happen!
3. Gigi DOES manage to escape from the Labyrinth.
This is one of my biggest hopes for the update and I will cry UGLY tears if she doesn't. I think it'd be really sweet if she ends up going to live on Beatrix's (and Hobson's) old ranch from the first game, but just something where she gets the happy ending she deserves. Or Else
And similarly, Gigi "If that happens, I'd love to meet you someday" GG.log and Viktor "I feel I owe it to them… as a friend" Humphries friendship momence. For funsies. Y'know her similarities to the other ranchers could be interesting to explore too, Mochi with her drones and parental conflict, Ogden with his botany and regrets about being an insta food CEO, BOb, her GRANDPARENTS she never got to meet?????? There are possibilities here I just loove
4. Old slimes
I doubt it wouldn't happen given the return of so many other old slimes but the day I get to merge sr2 slimes with quantum, rad, and mosaics is the day I will achieve true accomplishment in my ranching.
5. Prisma core tarr slime connection???
As I've said I still haven't fully finished my adventure through the Labyrinth but something about the Tarrs on the official realease artwork (see above) and their general prisma-esque rainbowy appearance makes me unable to not draw a connection
6. Casey mention
A crumb. Please. I know we've been done wrapping up that story since last game but the fact that there's hardly been a mentioning of them since haunts me. Alexa play the subway by chappell roan
7. Milebeau momence...
I admit I am ship brained but still.
This is all I'm writing I'm so tired but so so excited to see what happens @ Monomi Park if im right about anything here I expect a lifetimes worth of newbucks deposited straight into my account ASAP thank you :) sorry if this is sloppily written its almost midnight ahah
