While watching the interview from Piers Morgan of the U.S President, they discussed remodelling Air Force One. The President described it as 'Jackie Kennedy Blue'. I wanted to find out more and discovered it was commissioned by JFK and designed by Raymond Loewy. It got me thinking about the family who commissioned it and the history of the plane. I wanted to create this illustration to pair the optimism of the 'Jackie Kennedy Blue' with the melancholy of what the plane came to be in their lives.
