“They say “time heals”, but even now… I know that’s a lie. What people really mean is that eventually you’ll get used to the pain. You’ll forget who you were without it; you’ll forget what you looked like without your scars.” ― Claudia Gray, A Thousand Pieces of You
damn, I missed it here
you can’t really tame this sort of thing
sometimes I forget to ask people if they want to be taken care of. sometimes I forget there are people like me, who would rather give give give.
Last one.
opia (n)
the ambiguous intensity of eye contact
we get so lost in life,
we don't even look at the stars anymore.
we're either dreamers determined to become starving artists,
or doers destined to become apathetic shells of ourselves.
it's so easy to get lost in life,
it's even easier to get lost in your eyes.
the opia defies gravity and time.
the sun increases in intensity and the stars vibrate with the need to listen to the stories I'll tell the moon about you.
they say the eyes are the windows of the soul,
well the souls are the key to the universe.
and the galaxies created by the flares in your eyes tell the story of eden.
the story of creation and time.
your eyes remind me why poets write.

wattpad stopped being free, so no I have to move my poems somewhere else 😭
socha (n)
the hidden vulnerability of others
your socha sings the song of the birth of the sun.
something so fiery, untamed.
a goddess that yields to nothing,
a secret lover of the moon.
the mother of the stars,
warriors princesses don't cry.
but your socha sings the song of the birth of the moon.
a tragic staccato of sharp highs and deep dull lows.
still, it is a song isn't it?
and who cares if you are tired of being queen.
your socha still will sing the song of the birth of the sun.

i’ve passed the point of only wanting to feel you under me,
over me,
in me.
now I crave the little things,
like having your head on my shoulder,
watching your smile form when you think no one is watching.
I really just want to trace the curve from your forehead to your nose,
to your lips.
I want to map your body,
every scar, every mark
I will turn them into a shrine for worship.
the stories of their becoming will be like hymns on my tongue as I hum,
kissing your flaws while I think about how lucky I am.
how lucky I’d be.
but...
you’re not mine.
and this isn’t love.
you’re just someone I write poetry about.

My lips vibrate to the electric pulse at your throat.
I wish it wasn't so dark,
I wish I could see your eyes.
Did you miss me?
Do you want to look at me as much as I want to look at you?
Just to make sure it's real.
Or has your eyes rolled back?
To view the panorama of the places in your head you hide,
Behind hooded eyes when you're high.
I wish I didn't have to feed you happy pills and dead man's elixir to make you feel.
I want to resurrect you,
But you're so far gone that your emptiness echoes.
The beautiful haunting melody of the damned.

recognize you were created to be worshipped,
and accept nothing less.
only when you truly see yourself will the secrets of the universe open up to you,
like a black queen’s legs.
it will give birth to a knowledge in you,
an appreciation for who you are,
planted in the soil of your recognition,
watered by daily actualization.
fertilized by the awestruck look in a strangers eye when they pass you in the street.
your becoming will prompt a celebration in heaven.
and you,
with the light imbued...
will look in the mirror and see a goddess smiling back at you.

I kind of want to tell her she has nothing to worry about.
