Ed: I'll be done with school soon.

Phoebe: Done? You got me a cat so quickly?

Ed: No. I'm being figurative, love.

Ed: When I see you, we'll pick one out.

Phoebe: You're honestly the sweetest.

Phoebe: I wouldn't mind a cat. I had one back in school and I loved him dearly.

Ed: Nah

Ed: Done.

Phoebe: You want to get me a cat?

Ed: If you want one.

Ed: I want to give you everything you want.

She nodded. “I’m thankful again for your input, but we’ll definitely see what happens.”

“We will,” he agreed with a shrug of his shoulders as he finished his drink.

“I don’t think that necessarily true, but I’ll be sure to remember that whenever I do go to properly attempt to fix a car.”

He shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve lived on the periphery of both worlds for a long time,” he said. “So I know it can be...difficult.”

Phoebe: It could be a start to it all though. Except, now I want a kitten.

Ed: I'll get you one ;)

Phoebe: No, you don't have to get me a cat. I don't want to look like one of those crazy cat ladies.

Ed: Love, I think crazy cat ladies have a great more than one.

“I think,” he said carefully. “That it would help you to know how something works if you were familiar using it.”

Phoebe: I know. It's just some getting used to with me.

Ed: Do you want me to buy you a cat to keep you company?

She nodded. “I’m sure I’ll get to that eventually, but for now I think I’m good knowing how to fix them.”

On that, Edgar definitely disagreed but it wasn’t his place to say so. Perhaps he would simply say something to Ted about it instead. He smiled swiftly. “If you say so,” he shrugged.

Ed nodded, idly wondering if it had been difficult for her to leave her family but knowing it wasn’t his business. He took another sip. “You should probably learn to drive a car too,” he murmured.

Phoebe: Really, I just hate being in this house alone. It's too quiet.

Ed: I know, love. I'm sorry. I'd be there if I could.
