"Am I mean because I speak the truth? It is temporary, this makeshift family. When you or the angels return to your rightful world, all will be forgotten." He had no way of knowing if that would actually be the case. One thing was certain, though: they would be separated.

"And am I a liar because you refuse to see the truth, Sephiroth?"

"I am not your enemy. I am not here to start anything either. You may relax."

"And, you think saying all that will make me see you less as an enemy? Make me suddenly trust you?" He asked. Even Sephiroth at his worse when it came to socializing knew better. He knew Aurelius and Klaus might one day disappear, but the fact for him was that they were here with him now and they were all happy.

Sephiroth was finally happy.

"You don't care about me as a person. You only care about how strong I am with my sword." Sephiroth remembered Sebastian's praises. They were never aimed at his person. He only ever talked about his sword skills. The old him would have kept quiet and obedient, but he was at his limit with Sebastian.

"You're no different than those adults back home who treated me like a weapon and prize. I don't know what Vanth or Shadow see in you. They're both too good for you."

"I've told you. I think it's funny. Don't believe me? Ask Vi."

"The strife, violence, and interpersonal conflicts are very entertaining."

Sephiroth stared at him before grabbing his collar. He pulled Shadow close and leaned in as if to bite him. Instead, he placed a gentle kiss on the tip of his ear.

"Hope that answers your previous question." He said and stormed off.

"Oh? Decided Im worthy of words again?" Shadow looked quite smug and nestled himself quite comfortably against Sephiroth.

"I annoy you so much yet...You still hang around me. What's with the self imposed torture?"

Sephiroth doesn't even try to fight against Shadow's touch. He relaxed towards Shadow and nestled back against him.

"What about you? I punch and bite you, yet you don't even leave or hit back. Are you that much of a glutton?"

And, that's the crack Shadow needed to form. When he peeked over his shoulder, he shot Sephiroth a toothy grin and even a wave.

"Hiiii-iii-iiii!"

Sephiroth blushed a light pink when he saw Shadow's grin and turned back around again.

"Annoying!" he muttered.

"Sooooo cold, Sephiroth..."

Shadow's now lazily floating around the other boy, before draping himself on the other side now.

"It was funny. You can laugh."

Sephiroth faltered for just a moment before quickly stepping away. He wasn't going to laugh!

in fact, Sephiroth peeked over his shoulder to make sure Shadow knows he's being ignored!

"That wasn't a no..." Shadow laughed to himself as he clipped the mirror back onto his belt, now opting to hang off of Sephiroth.

"Soooo, it's true...That must be so sad for you."

Sephiroth shrugged him off with a bratty hmph! and kept giving him the cold shoulder. He wasn't going to break just because Shadow was being clingy!

Great, he got someone to give him a helping hand, which would earn him some type of community brownie points or something. (Or so he hoped.) Keeping the youth out of trouble and all that shit.

" It's Enjin, here, " he holds up a roll of trash bags and tosses it in the boy's direction-- careful enough to not sending it flying, but with enough force for it to meet Sephiroth's hands.

" I got a trash picker if you prefer usin' one of those, " Enjin waggles the mechanism-- the claws at the end of the stick opening and closing with a button on the handle.

" Doesn't matter either way, 'long as the mess is cleaned up, " he turns around, whistles a bit, and gets back to picking up all of the garbage left behind on the grass.

" Should I call you anything besides 'kid?' "

Sephiroth caught the bag and took the long claw from the man. He'd definitely like to not touch any trash if he can help it. He followed after Enjin and started to pick up the litter around the park.

"Sephiroth," he said, giving a late introduction. The nickname did remind him of more pleasant times when Glenn was still around. The guy even kind of looked similar to him. "You can keep calling me kid if you want."

Sephiroth never really noticed just how much people littered and it annoyed him now to see it.

"So, do you just volunteer for fun?"

"Hahaha!! What!! No, you're not getting this!" Shadow snorted, "If it breaks it won't do anything! It's not real! Just a replica!"

"What, do you care about me or something?"

[edgedwing]

Sephiroth glared at him and punched him in the arm.

"Jerk, I'm not talking to you anymore today!" He crossed his arms and turned away from him.

"Absolutely not, that demon was praying on the downfall of Hyrule." Dumb question!!

"...Oh? Like this?" Shadow unclipped the mirror that he had clipped to his person at all times, and was ready to shatter it over his knee, just to see Sephiroth sweat.

Sephiroth's hand shot up and grabbed Shadow's wrist to stop him.

"Are you insane? Give me that!" If he can't keep himself safe, Sephiroth will do it for him!

"Wh..what?" The candid and earnest response caught the shade off guard and he looked like he was caught in headlights.

"Y...you can't just say that!! It was the natural conclusion anyone in their right mind would've come to!"

"hmm, yeah, anyone whose life wasn't attached to the mirror would do it. Do you think that wind demon would have done the same?" Sephiroth placed his hands behind his back and tilted his head.

"Not many people are willing to actually die. People say they're willing to die for something, but they fight as hard as they can to survive and live." Sephiroth knew if he had to make the same choice, he wouldn't destroy the mirror if it meant his death.

"That's why I think it's more heroic. Just... don't do it here, okay? Be selfish and stay alive."

"What? Don't act so surprised!" The Stars were just that powerful!

"I'm the one who shattered it, obviously. An unavoidable consequence of beridding that Wind demon, was also forfeiting my own life." Despite how casually he relinquished this information, it also doesn't appear to bother him too much. "In the grand scheme of things, my existence was much smaller in comparison to everything else...So naturally, I did what had to be done."

No wonder Shadow always seemed to be so casual about death and dying. He was technically dead and had sacrificed himself for the greater good.

"And, you say you're no good." He covered his mouth with the back of his hand to hide his smile and turned his head away. Sephiroth was definitely blushing on top of it. "And, doubt yourself too much. You're practically a real hero."

"Ha! Nice try. Mirror's already broken at home. And I'm still here."

[edgedwing]

"It is? How did it break?" And, how was he still here? The Stars are mysterious...

[phantommirrored]

"Serious answer? Break the mirror I came out of."

[edgedwing]

"So, if we put the mirror in a safe... you won't ever leave."

[phantommirrored]

"Some of us are summoned! Bah!!! You people are freaks."

It had been some time since War last saw the boy. Not purposefully, but it was in his nature. He and his siblings could spend decades or centuries apart from each other, but when next they’d meet it was as if no time had passed at all.

For mortals it was obviously different. They changed from month to month, year to year. For best or worse.

“You seem brighter than when last I saw you.”

Sephiroth paused and looked up at War. It had been a long time since they saw each other and he gave a polite nod to him. Things had been feeling a lot brighter for him in many ways and he was surprised it was noticeable.

"Many things have happened," Sephiroth said. "Two angels have graciously adopted me."

It was still strange to say out loud. Sephiroth wanted to pinch himself every time he said it.

"You think me that cruel, mm?"

Sebastian isn't offended at all, if the smile is anything to go by. "Is it because I'm a demon? Demons are not only capable of deceit, boy. It will do you some good to learn that." His attention drops to Morpheus, who sits by his side.

"I did not summon Morpheus to hunt you down. Finding you just happened to be a coincidence."

"Tell me, how are you liking your new home? Your temporary family?"

Sephiroth had been able to keep his cool around Morpheus due to Aurelius being near by at the party. Now, he was stumbling backwards to put some distance between him and the dog, trying to hide his fear.

"They're not temporary." Sephiroth glared him at him and crossed his arms. Sebastian didn't want him to think he was cruel, yet used cruel words carelessly.

"No, it's because you're mean and a liar. Shadow's a demon and I like him."
