A snort. Always a fun time dealing with his apprentice, wasn't it? He'd let it slide, at least this time since the other had bested him. He wouldn't dare say that outloud - the words would seem far too poisonous. But yet, he could save them for another day.
He shrugged with a slight smile. ''.. It doesn't hurt to mention,'' he remarked, now barely moving a hand as a swirling dark portal appeared before them. It had mostly come from the elder's male mind, a mere thought making it conjure itself into existence. With that being taken care of, he let his arm return to behind his back with the other.
''Easily enough ... It's soothing, and its something that can be sweet,'' he argued, now moving to step into the portal. He had forgotten how long it's been since he had started drinking tea ... but it certainly helped him to focus on something else rather than the vast amounts of research over the years he had done. At least, it being one of the things helpful to him.
Out on the other side, there was two-story home that loomed out in front of them - the soft pastel color if it blending in quite nicely on the edge of the residential area of town. Xehanort stepped forward, and waved a hand over the doorknob - the dark magick lingering around the door sliding out from place. Now, he could enter without trouble.
Soothing and sweet. Bah.
"If you say so."
A scoff, and Vanitas quickly followed his master through the portal, letting him take his time with doors and whatnot as he got lost in his own thoughts, his eyes going from the house to Xehanort, and his inner monologue doing the same.
This place is gross. He's getting sloppy. I don't see why we must keep playing family like this. I almost defeated him this time, and I don't know if it's good or bad. It's ugly. I had fun. And he's getting older.
"Maybe that's it. You're getting too relaxed for training."
Voicing his thoughts was never a good idea, but that bitter remark still escaped his lips before he could stop it. A sarcastic joke that was meant for himself alone, that now he shared with someone who could level all that ugly residence in one move, as far as he knew.

Currently slouched on his usual sofa, Demyx let out a loud, clearly quite annoyed sigh at that. Or, at least, the closest thing to annoyance a Nobody could feel, anyway.

"Think about it!" making his current sitting position even worse, number IX flopped upside-down, not too dissimilar to a fish out of water ironically enough, keeping his eyes on the other "If we all just... disappear, even for just a day? Nobody will suspect a thing! We could relax and if the Superiors ask something, we could just say that the missions went bad and that's why we didn't gather any Hearts! Buuuut-" a single finger is lifted "We need coordination, or else I'll just get scolded again and I don't feel like it, today!"

For how long was he zoning out? Maybe returning to the Land of Departure after all that time wasn't a good idea -- that place was full of good memories, it was their home, and yet just now he realizes that it's full of bad ones, too.
The plaza in front of the main door, especially. Terra realized that he'd been staring in front of him - in the exact place where Eraqus fell, many years before - for a good handful of seconds only when Ventus' voice breaks through his thoughts.
Take a deep breath, man. Now exhale.
And smile.
"I'm fine, Ven. Just got lost in my thoughts."
A little sigh.
"At the very least I know you are merciful ..."
Just as sarcastic towards the other, but it at least their fight confirmed something very important. That, yes, the boy was very much one of the true darknesses out there. He attempted to control his breath -- he had ended up pushing himself a touch too hard, and especially after a long day in general. But it had a huge point to it of course ...
Whatever helped him to keep some sort-of leverage on the other, even if it had been barely a sliver of information.
"But do not think that it necessarily makes us equals."
Oh, he just had to - a nice reminder for what the darkling's place was, during all of this. It made feel as if he could re-gain control of the situation that had just happened, like a comfort blanket. He suddenly spun around a little wobbly, a touch unsettled as he kept his shields in place but let his keyblade shimmer away to the depths of his heart.
"Now, come... I'll make tea."
Vanitas' eyes roll, accompanied by a soft groan. Merciful. Right. He could comment on how he actually managed to make him feel tired, how he's slipping, but... was it necessary, really?
He knew better than mess with Xehanort too much.
"Yeah, yeah." he'd rather wave his hand dismissingly, his own Keyblade disappearing as he stretched a bit, seemingly unfazed by the training session "No need to point that out, Master."
He was still below the other. For now, maybe? Forever? Who cares. He was there just to have fun, and get to Ventus. If that meant he had to play the good boy and be Xehanort's attack dog for a little longer, he might as well play the part--
"--tea again?!"
--for the most part, anyway. The groan that followed was clearly way more bratty than the one that preceeded it.
"How can you like that dirty hot water...?!"
