Sneak Peek of Tiefling Troubles Ch 22
I was almost done this chapter but then two things happened.
Firstly, I realized I wasn't vibing with Zevlor's POV this time and would rather have it from Tav's POV sooo it's going through a re-write to switch it around 🥰
Secondly, I injured one of my fingers and so my typing is much, much slower than usual 😅
All of this is to say, I should be able to post chapter 22 on either Monday or Tuesday 😘 I'm not so sure weekly updates are something I'm actually capable of, but I'm going to keep trying and the update days will still be Sunday-ish (give or take a couple days) going forward 💕

You and Zevlor both spring into a macabrely violent dance of physical blows and deadly magic. The fight is a blur as you duck and weave, sending out wave after wave of cantrips and spells, each of you seamlessly covering the weak points of the other with effortless fluidity.
Axes swing through the air, aimed directly for your head, but when you duck Zevlor spins on his heels and catches the double blow on his mop handle before launching a kick at the duergar’s chest.
You straighten from your half-crouch and send an electric blast of witch bolt into the hammer-wielding one bearing down on Zevlor's turned back, sending her staggering backwards into the door.
It shudders under the impact, and then the whole floor shudders and rolls under your feet too. Heavy, metal bound books noisily thump to the ground from their shelves, and the few remaining golden dishes on the desk rattle and clatter wildly.
You catch Zevlor’s eye and find his ferocious snarl replaced by a perfect mirror of the same confusion rushing through you.
Whatever that rumble was, it definitely wasn’t just caused by the guard’s stumble.
You don’t have any time to ponder the mystery, for in that moment the hammer-wielder rushes back to her feet and lunges forward.
Zevlor dodges too slowly and the hammer slams into the tip of his tail with a sickening crunch. A cry of pure agony rips from his throat and he stumbles forward into the desk.
