barrett edwards grew up with three siblings on a farm just hours outside of windsor bay. they raised horses, so barrett has known how to ride for about as long as she's known how to walk. she did barrel racing for years, until she realized she just couldn't make a career out of it. it wasn't for a lack of talent or want, but she just couldn't put herself through that.
she went to college and after, she returned to help her family out on the farm until her big brother encouraged her to get there, to see something other than the torn they'd spent their whole lives in.
so, barrett did just that. she took the money she'd earned over the years of racing, and the money she'd saved up during every odd job she'd ever had, and moved to windsor bay. it was new, but close enough to visit home whenever she felt the ranch calling to her.
it was a no brainer when she saw a job posting for a horse trainer and tour guide at the sinclair ranch. it's been ten years since she said yes to the job offer, and it's been the best ten years of her life.

almost-something. within the ten years of her being there, barrett and this muse have almost been something more times than she can count. except every time they get close to something, she pulls back. it's been just her for so long that she's gotten comfortable with it.
friend(s). she's friendly, but kind of reserved. a friend could bring her out of her shell. maybe it's a newer friendship, or maybe they've been friends for years!

Walking in, the smell of paint hit her first. Shade Culture had been on her list of things to try for so long yet Amara had always imagined she'll come with some company to make the whole experience less daunting. The thought of bringing her mother had crossed her mind but the woman had called last minute to let her know she had a change of heart. She offered a small smile at the woman, who greeted her upon arrival and requested a glass of soda before heading towards the long table with set canvas. "Is this your first time, too?" She chuckled, taking a seat next another early comer. Noticing most of the seats were still empty, she hoped to at least break the ice and have a decent first experience.
"first time drinking and trying to paint?" she chuckled quietly to herself, like an inside joke that only she'd understand. "first time doing it with other people around," she admitted, voice light, smile curving upward as she caught the other's gaze. at least she'd already made a friend. well, kind of? "i went through a phase where i tried the whole paint and sip thing in my kitchen. i'm just hoping i'm better with guidance." that, and she'd been gifted the experience as a thank you from her older sibling. at least that's what they'd said when they transferred her the ticket. in reality, bear knew it was a way to get her out of the house. "do you paint?"
