BIOGRAPHY.
tws for home invasion, death, drugs, & adoption
Her childhood was picturesque. A standard nuclear family in Dallas with two younger siblings and parents who hated to sleep away from each other. Thalia was a happy but slightly odd kid with an early fascination with all things spooky. Her life fell apart when her family was killed in a home invasion. The spot on the roof where her mom used to take her up to stargaze was her hiding spot. She may not have been the sole survivor if her little sisters hadn’t cried when they were hiding. Thalia went into the foster system for three years and came out even more damaged.
Joining the Edwards family was just luck. They didn’t even know her, just old family friends who must have liked her parents. At times they were distant and worked more than the standard 40 a week but they were kind. More importantly, Thalia had Deacon. He was only five years older than her but he stepped into the protector role she needed. He was there after every nightmare and every bad day. She was grateful for her adopted parents but they were forever kept at a distance. Not Deacon. She loved him entirely.
She lived as free a life as a kid could live. After her traumatic beginnings, homeschooling was the best option for her. Thalia was very smart and preferred her own company (or her brother’s) for many years. The siblings became extremely close even when Thalia shifted to attend the same high school as Deacon. As her hormones began to sabotage, Thalia’s focus on school and her emotional stability slipped. Despite Deacon’s presence, she felt alone and scared and couldn’t help but fixate on darkness.
Enter Leon. A tall and lanky presence who matched her sadness in the most majestic goth way possible. They were Kurt and Courtney, skipping school and indulging in self destructive activities. Her grades tanked but she was in love and every grunge concert they snuck into made things better. Despite their mutual worshiping, they parted ways so Thalia could try striking out on her own on the opposite coast. She was accepted into college by the skin of her teeth but found herself excelling once she found pre-med.
A shockingly large inheritance came into her possession once she turned 18 but Thalia was already invested. She reinvested everything she could afford to do without and focused on her studies. Halfway through her four years of medical school, Deacon called and said he needed her. Thalia transferred to NYC as soon as possible and divided her time between studying and keeping her brother afloat. During her neurosurgery residency, Thalia reconnected with Leon and they dated until she completed her fellowship and attended a certain fundraiser for the hospital.
Despite her brother strongly advising against it, she married Saul Weissberg and her life started revolving around him. How could it not? He was charismatic, attractive, intelligent enough to verbally spar with her and confident enough to challenge her. At first the electric chemistry was all she needed but Thalia soon grew unhappy. Between surgery and attending all the social events that her gregarious husband loved, she felt herself slowly unraveling. Communication was difficult between them as they both threw themselves into work.
Her adopted mother started getting sick and Thalia’s big brother moved back to take care of her. After a year of traveling back and forth between New York and Blue Harbor, Thalia practically begged Saul to move with her back to Illinois. She already applied to become the head of the surgery program at the Blue Harbor hospital so she could be with the family that treated her with such kindness. She didn’t expect that to be the final nail in their marriage.
After they divorced, Thalia threw herself into work and reengaging with her family. She didn’t want to be back in Blue Harbor and she didn’t want to be without someone who loved her. Her days are spent at the hospital and free time taken up by the occasional yoga class and watching old movies with her big brother.
Headcannons
She will engage in almost any type of horror except home invasion, for obvious reasons, and usually steers away from any family dramas (due to an obsession with Toni Collette, Thalia attempted to watch Hereditary but had to leave the theatre before she had a panic attack during a certain dinner scene)
She very rarely expresses emotions on her face. After what happened with her family, Thalia retreated into herself. Even after growing up, only a few people could read her micro-expressions
Her eyes are very photosensitive and she rarely goes outside without sunglasses
She forgets to eat frequently. After her divorce, the reminder duty usually falls to Deacon or the people she works with
She spokes a surprising amount of weed as it's the only way she can really relax. She'll do other drugs too but rarely goes anywhere without her tiny cigarette case filed with precisely rolled joints

colleagues ; anyone who would work at the hospital
