Not heard much Tuxedomoon since their 91 album The Ghost Sonata:An Opera Without Words, which was incredible. This 2004 album is equally something special, really diverse and yet so contrasting to the iciness of Ghost Sonata. It's got many warm tracks and plenty of instrumental variance, with a number of vocal tracks. A splendid listen through and through.
DT was good. This is better. One of the calmer tracks.
Possibly an homage to Harry Partch, to whom is credited for the inspiration of the mysterious music theorist N Senada. The whole vibe of this piece is great. Breaking down the same basic tune and melody over a number of instruments, layering and some subtle vocals used for nonsensical effect (chew chew gumtree?), A most fascinating listen. I really wouldn't like to think about what it's trying to say; leave it down to personal interpretation.
Dear God. I liked Wax Tailor a lot before this album, but having over-heard Dusty Rainbow constantly since I appropriated it... I've spent the last day going from start to finish on repeat, I'd heavily recommend you listen to the whole album. It's a rare gem; a hip-hop concept album. It's about creativity, the imagination of children and the escapist effect of music. There's not much rapping involved, but hey, it's a white Frenchman. It's not gangsta rap.
The whole of Earth's problems can be solved with money. Whose money? What money? Where's it coming from?
The samples in this track are great. Greed is part of survival for some, that'll never change. The track after this on the album is great too; Brazilification.
Is it genius or desperation, when an artist demands sound from a rubberband be recorded for money? These are the sort of questions this album asks.
Manitoba/Caribou. Amazing composer. This gets jazzy towards the end.
The Residents - Mark Of The Male
Chilling, dark and eerie cello and bass. Wax is just a sampling genius.
Chillout at it's best. Been listening to this, Wax Tailor and Leila on repeat for a few days and it's a greater sedative than any medication.

The last 20s of this really scares me. The rest of it is really rather pleasant.
So many epic tracks on Richard D James' self-titled album. Not sure it's possible to overlisten to it; been on repeat all Sunday. The pace of the album breaks up between breakbeat/acid and more downtempo ambient compositions. Also check out "How to Cure a Weakling Child".

Been listening to Lemongrass recently. I love the album Drumatic Universe, where this song comes from. The mixture of down-tempo, trip hop, jazz and the archaic drums which are threaded make it a very interesting listen. This isn't just background music. Neither is it to be danced to.
This Frenchie can produce. A masterpiece of a masterpiece sample, that makes this track a masterpieces.
Underrated album by far. The ambient soundscapes on this album are soothing; Fripp on guitar too.
