Someday someone is going to look at you with a light in their eyes youâve never seen, theyâll look at you like youâre everything theyâve been looking for their entire lives. wait for it

Sometimes when you meet someone, thereâs a click. I donât believe in love at first sight, but I believe in that click.

The lessons I learned in 2017: Teenage boys are not any sort of âPrince Charmingsâ. Never have been and never will be. But teenage girls are âDamsels in Distressâ, for sure. Look at us! Always obsessed with what people think, what they say, how we look. We create our distress. We donât have to be a 'Damsel in Distressâ. We can be a heroine. We all are, deep down. But this year, I learned that I have to find my heroine, deep within my heart and soul. Teenage boys are not princes. I have to reiterate that, because you may shake your head, acting as if everyone knows that. But our hearts? We make exceptions. âNo! Heâs my soul mate! My Prince Charming!â He wasnât my prince. And thatâs a lesson I learned in 2017. But I also learned that I am not a damsel in distress. Iâm the heroine of my own story.

2017; you taught me more than I could handle. I learned love, loss, everything in between.
