everytime marcus is drawn next to alva in something official , i’m once again reminded of the fact that marcus’ theft serves as the catalyst behind alva’s death due to the misunderstanding it caused between him and his mentee . because marcus presumably stole the perpetual motion machine notes from his laboratory in an attempt to “ fix what was broken ” when he started losing , the very notes that luca , alva’s student , was accused of stealing ( hence the violent confrontation and subsequent accident that claimed alva’s life ) they would not have had a falling out so severe without this misunderstanding , which means alva would still be alive and luca wouldn’t have gone to prison . thaaaaaaanks for the contribution , marcus .

you know as much as I do think fushi is guilty of unintentionally disrespecting the vessels of the deceased loved ones they take on , it’s also true that he does everything within his power to defend these vessels from others as if they are still the living breathing people he used to know and care for . they are a selfish body snatcher of the dead who then borrows their bodies while doing things the original owner would not have stood for or appreciated , usually on accident , but they will not allow others to disrespect these vessels by doing the same thing . he won’t even accept insults directed towards his vessels . call them whatever you want but make sure it’s about them and not their current borrowed body or else . this is all to say rest assured that fushi will not let anyone talk shit about you if you die ! sorry about everything else they do while taking your dead body as their vessel though .
you know I really wonder if idv will take the internal conflict / battle between maxwell & marcus route as he starts getting more lore . i wouldn’t be surprised even though they act with absolute unity in my interpretation so far ( in the sense that there is not two , separate and differently willed entities within marcus , they exist as one . ) it is canon that marcus atleast initially resisted maxwell’s intrusion to both his psyche and body due to his ridiculously dominant spirit , only to later accept for the sake of mutual victory and eternal relevance . as long as the win is guaranteed , their wills are aligned and there is no need for conflict or doubt . in order for an argument to occur , one of them would surely have to compromise a win , and I don’t think there’s anything either of them care about enough to even risk betraying their main goal . marcus has shown that he’s willing to sacrifice friends , allies , and loved ones ( when he actually has them ) for victory . no cost is too great . but then again , marcus is the only one who is capable of forming such bonds ( apparently . i’m still learning ) . control is split evenly between the two , but when marcus hallucinates and turns hostile , maxwell is generally the one in charge . the betrayals and eliminations are maxwell’s final shots after marcus dominates the entire game up until that vital turning point . a rational person would tire of that with time , but marcus is stagnant . i still can’t rule out the possibility of conflict when they are both the most assertive , dominant , egotistical , and possessive individuals ( one ) out there though .

although drude leaving his prison would be something of a catastrophic event ( and never a decision he would make on his own ) I have dwelled on the concept before simply due to the interaction limitations that come with drude being confined to his very abandoned underground prison in the middle of nowhere . and he would definitely need to be reprogrammed and assigned a new ‘ mission ’ / objective , but he could prove to be a valuable asset to law enforcement on the surface for a short while . that is , until drude runs into the issue of his new rules conflicting with his own / the ones he had before , which would result in disobedience and his eventual defection . he and his counterpart , lorentz , would be great for infiltration missions since the latter has experience behaving as a rebellious lawbreaker with a strong dislike for authority due to their prior function .
