Why Do I Love You?

In your helpless state you ask me why I love you. And even though I never stop reminding you how much you mean to me, I will remind you again; I love you for you. Darling I love you for the way you laugh when you find something so unbearably hilarious; for the way your eyes spark with joy and innocence. I love you for how your voice cracks involuntarily when you're mad. I love you for the way you get just a little jealous when I talk about another boy. I love you for how you are always ready to defend me no matter how hefty the offender. I love you for the way you hold me to your chest and for how you make me feel so safe just by gliding your fingers through my hair ever so gently. I love you for all the times you stand outside of the bathroom, banging on the door playfully while I beg you for privacy. I love you for the way you look at me with or without makeup. For the way your eyes gleam with an almost ravenous longing. I love you for all the nights you have stayed up late consoling my mind in attempt to help me sleep. I love you for every morning you wake up and text me before anything else. I love you for the way you squirm when I tickle your sides and for the way you shrink when I tickle your neck. I love you for the unique way you like to hold my hand. I love you for all the times you tell me to keep running even when I am visibly annoyed at you for being in such good shape. I love you for loving me especially on the days that I don't love myself. I love you for all the times you've let me fall asleep in your arms when you're anything but sleepy. I love you for putting up with my anal-retentive bed-making. For doing everything by 3s because you know I can't have it any other way. I love you for how unbelievably disgusting you can be. I love you for all the times you laugh at me as I sob to sad movies. I love you for being secure in your masculinity as you take swing dance classes with me. I haven't even made a dent into all the reasons I love you. But in short: I love you for all that you are.
