LESLIE GRINNED. “Are you kidding? They’re so much better; they’re made fresh!” She squeezed El’s hand lightly as they began to walk to the diner. “It’s not far, I PROMISE.”

El looked at the woman in unease. "But I like eggos." She was a bit nervous that they wouldn't taste the same. She craved the sense of comfort that came from familiarity. "Um okay." She agreed. Squeezing her hand lightly as she let leslie lead them there.

“My papa’s looking for me and I don’t want him to find me.” She answered honestly while looking the girl over. “If you’re offering do you have some food I can eat?”

Veronica nodded and gave the girl a small smile. “Of course. It’s not really healthy but…” She offered the younger girl some red vines from her inside jacket pocket.

El quickly grabbed the candy. Scarfing it down as if she was starving. Which was pretty accurate to her situation. Most kids would savor it but she inhaled it for some much needed sustenance.

The girl tugged lightly on his sleeve as not to spook him. Eleven had a habit of appearing out of nowhere and making no noise as she made her entrance so she could scare people easily. “I had a nightmare. Can you come watch tv with me?”

Mike still keeping her in his room until he could explain this whole situation. Not to mention keeping the girl from her papa. She only spoke up since he’d already seen her. “You can’t tell anyone you saw me. I’m supposed to be in hiding.”

“So if you’ve been good this guy leaves you presents?” They were trying to explain the concept of christmas to el and she was having hard time wrapping her head around it. “And in exchange we leave him cookies? So it’s like a trade?” How does he even know if she’s been good or not? She doesn’t even know the guy.
