This blog is dedicated exclusively to my general Hunger Games fixation, with a focus on art/animations, takes, and my GOATs Haymitch, Effie, and Katniss. But it's also for my HG OC fic: The Pros and Cons of Being Dead!!

Cassian Wendell spent his teenage years bored. Born deep in the prairies of District Nine, working a comfortable but monotonous job in his town’s general store, his life was naturally not the most exciting. Wake up, work, and go to sleep. That was how life was. He yearned for a break, an interruption, a life-ruining catastrophe that would spirit him away from his worthless existence.

And just his luck, it came - in the form of being reaped for the 69th Hunger Games. Where he got to live in luxury, meet eccentric people, and bask in the 15 minutes of fame he gained in the Capitol. 

Then, he’ll step off his platform, and blow up sky high. It would be easier to end it all quick and easy instead of suffering through a few days and dying in the hands of the careers. Not like he truly had anything to live for.

At least, that’s what he hoped to happen.

A silly little OC fic about a weird suicidal guy in his attempt to enjoy the last week of his life alive in the Capitol as he's reaped for the Hunger Games!!

Yeah we all know he's not gonna kill himself lets be real, but its sort of my own exploration of Panem and the Games (not to sound pretentious as hell). District 9 gets a spotlight, every character is sort of a subvertion of a canon character or exploration of a certain type of person that is born because of circumstances unique in Panem. Idk if that makes sense just read the damn fic or I'm gonna get you

🏅Best thing this month: crawled out of waitlist and got accepted into one of the universities I applied to!! I was fully convinced I wasnt going to make it so that was a fun surprise.

👾Currently working on: a script for part 2 of a poorly explained lore video for one of my OCs. And also plotting out the arena arc for my main OC, Cassy. And also also, some witch hat atelier OCs with friends.

Possibly unpopular opinion but anytime I hear about “well Woody didn’t fit the look, but was still a perfect Haymitch” makes me shake my head - he is a naturally great actor, there is no denying it, but even theoretically he couldn’t pass for or WAS playing Haymitch, not a book Haymitch as far as I’m concerned.

What Woody was playing was at best a softened and watered down version of Haymitch to fit him under a father figure archetype which he was not in the books. The movies missed a fundamental detail that he was never Katniss’ father (and SOTR, just as the fans keep clinging on the movie portrayal, which is too polished for the actual mess that Haymitch was in the trilogy).

The beef between Haymitch and Snow is so funny. The way Haymitch drank an entire pitcher of milk just so Snow wouldn't get any, so Snow kept supplying him milk throughout his entire stay in the Capitol after his victory... bro what are you doing you're the president of Panem😭

The girl with the fuckass bob is my oomf @loolilyumm-panem's OC, Marlowe!! She and Ray were gangsters from District 8 who were reaped together in the 14th Hunger Games. They cant stand each other, but became allies just to respect Kenzie's (curly haired girl, Marlowe's friend/Ray's sister) wishes. They bond over shared trauma and become best friends cause of course they do.

My life was taken over by these losers I'm not gonna shut up about them anytime soon
