How painful it is to realize you were only temporary to someone you saw as permanent.

i am terrified that

if i start loving her

i will never be able to

feel anything else again.

to be swallowed whole

by something so profound—

i'm not sure i would be

strong enough to survive

the tide that followed.

i would spend the rest of my life

trying to cough her out of my lungs.

feel like a suicide letter.

most days i am an

echo chamber of apologies.

i start to wonder if

there is anything else

left in me anymore.

i go to bed empty.

most nights i am

something much worse.

For you, My Love, I will wait. In that, I haven't much choice. Perhaps we have already met, though I do not think it likely. I would know, wouldn't I? I know people that I care so deeply about, I feel as though I would truly break if they were no longer in my life, but still, they can not make me feel as you will. I'm sure of it. I want to be held by you so gently that I cry at the acceptance of your comfort and so tightly that we can feel our hearts beat in each other. I want to meet you so desperately, but first I must meet myself. I am already lost without you, and I know I can not be what you deserve unless I can understand who I am first. But I can't rush. No, if I rush, then I will still be too much for you. I do not believe in 'right person, wrong time', and I know nothing should ever be too much for that perfect someone, but I do not think I can take that chance. Not with you. I would not survive if I was wrong. Of that, I am sure. And so, for you, My Love, I will wait.

She waits for me

She waits for me.

I feel her eyes,

when ice runs up my spine.

It encases my veins and sits upon my head like a crown.

She watches me.

I feel her hands on my chest.

Petals falling like silk across my breasts.

Her silence begs for my consent.

She holds me.

I taste the ash on her lips,

smell sweet smoke in the falling mist.

Her temptation persists.

She kisses me.

I hold my breathe,

with her whip around my kneck

she tames me.

My life indefinitely digressed,

but still...

She waits for me.
