Could you elaborate maybe on what the phrase/slogan "history is cost" means when you say it please? Feels like a thing rooted in a particular strain/synthesis of ML thought that's intuitive once you get it, but a bit bewildering if you don't. Thankie. :3
In essence -- history is a set of consequences caused by material forces. The turning of the engine of history requires material inputs to make this happen. These material inputs are the cost of moving history.
Revolution turns the engine of history, class conflict is the mechanism. The price of class conflict is not cheap nor is it easy. It requires conviction, correct scientific analysis, revolutionary development, and contradiction with the forces of reactionary classes. The price of warring over the motion of history is steep, but it is a price that is both necessary and inevitable.

KILLBOY is a science fiction mecha novel wherein the Unified Continent of Freedom (Future USA) is at war with the People's Republics of Asia, a coalition of socialist republics in Asia. The UCF has managed to invent a technology known as the Egregore Engine, a device which allows people to harvest human grief as a fuel source that has an energy output of 10,000x carbon fuel per ml. Further, the UCF operates under a different gender binary, wherein civilians are always included in the gender-caste of Woman, and soldiers and the bourgeois elite are the only ones allowed inclusion in the class of Man, or among the "count of Mankind." The story follows the main character, Flechette Jaydamn, an ace pilot of the UCF, a closeted "sync-fail," a woman in the military, on her journey towards political consciousness and eventual defection to the PRA side, at immense personal cost. The book opens with the MC being forced to kill her defecting best friend on orders, who leaves behind for her a series of video diaries which provoke her political awakening. The book is uncompromisingly Marxist-Leninist in its convictions, and is structured with epigraphs pulled from diegetic documents that communicate the nature of the world Flechette occupies. It deals with themes of colonialism, imperialism, the comprador, historical materialism, and the necessary consequences of fighting a revolutionary war for global liberation, as well as structural transphobia (sort of) and misogyny (explicit).

got called a Man by a te/rf and the worse part was that they implied I play call of duty and im like. you can call me a man, whatever, I know you're a moron, but you will not deny me my stalwart commitment to global communism. in no world would I be a "call of duty fan" even if I were a man.
I tried playing call of duty once to do cultural criticism to it because I occasionally enjoy intaking evil media to do stuff with it -- KILLBOY was heavily inspired by watching Top Gun Maverick (which is an evil evil movie) but I played like an hour of Call of Duty and I almost threw up. that game is like actually vile. it's genuinely abominable.
