I know I go on about this kind of thing, but I super-duper need folks to understand that G1 Prowl and IDW1 Prowl are not the same character. They just straight up are not. Especially cartoon G1 Prowl.

For example, here's part of the final script from the G1 episode "Roll For It" (Prowl's lines are in pink, Chip Chase is blue):

"You had me execute a fantastic move, BillyChip. You think like a regular mainframe!"

"Please keep it up... We make a superb team."

"Ah! Now this is a human after my own central processor!"

"Chip... For a human being--you make one heck of an Autobot!"

This is Prowl's main character moment. He never gets impatient with Chip or yells at him. There's a moment of confusion, but Prowl is happy to work with Chip the entire time. It's nice. It's sweet. It's the basis for the Prowl II storyline in Binaltech (also, to bridge the gap caused by Prowl's appearance in the Japanese series).

Marvel Prowl isn't too different (although is more involved, if the beginning is anything to go by).

Please, please, please remember that G1 and IDW1 do not have the same characterizations! 🙏

i've been brewing a time travel AU where, during a battle near shockwave's lab, soundwave is caught in the blast of one of shockwave's experiments and sent to the far future where the war is over. during the time in between soundwave is considered MIA and presumed dead. he meets blaster who has become a DILF and has taken care of soundwave's cassettes while he was gone. blaster also lost an audial and is hard of hearing after a separate battle where he gets injured. together they try to find a way to send soundwave back to his own time 😳

Am I wrong to say that I hate how IDW has essentially become the default for fandoms idea of the characters. Am I wrong to be frustrated how IDW story falls apart because none of the writers could be on the same page and have glorified some characters actions while also demonizing others for the same actions. Am I wrong to love the Wreckers Triology so much but also notice how the story falls apart so easily you think about it to hard. Am I wrong to be mad that some characters get more sympathy but other’s characters get the oh we need to kill this guy reaction from fans.

I grow more and more bitter with IDW because of its hypocrisy and I can’t even tell if it’s intentional anymore because some of the writing is good but some of it is bad because of how many of the writers basically were in pissing matches with eachother. Fan back lashes because people having no media literacy and I see the same stuff repeating with Modern comics and series with Transformers.

I’m getting tired of everything in general and it’s hard to enjoy and create anything anymore.
