How I come with ideas

For the Disney playing cards I get  ideas for my drawings from Disney quiz cards  and Google Images which helped me create ideas for the drawings and help create ideas for the design for the playing cards.

For the Musical (Wicked) playing cards I get ideas for my drawing from Pinterest and Google Images which helped me to develop the ideas for my drawings and for the playing cards.

Chosen Theme

The I was originally theme I  chose to take forward was the theme of “musical” the musical I chose to focus on for the theme was Wicked but later change the main theme to Disney animals because i find there was more room for developing and exploring  the theme .  The main Disney animals I chose to focus on is the classic Disney animal  the ones I grow up with watching  and will  also be look at animals for more recent Disney movies. My love for Disney and musical start from a young age and as grow up my love for them grow with me.  The materials I plan on using are pencil , posca pens , tracing paper for my drawing. For make the playing cards and box cover i’m planning on using Canva’s editing software.

Here more idea playing cards I put spades and clubs in white to make them stand out more the background. like the space of the cards but it reminds of posted stamp.

I was brigten some of the photos to make them at the edits of the playing card look better.

Here is more playing card edit the effect makes the playing cards more eye catching but the effects hurts your head if look at them for to long.

Here more idea for the wicked playing cards. I added effect to the drawings to make the playing cards more eye catching. The effect look great but it made so of the details hard to see.

I’m really happy with how the drawing come out. I wish draw the hand better so would look more normal.

here is my final suit of playing cards. would have put the card suits on the down if would them agin to little more like playing cards but I like how it looks different other playing cards with cards suit being only on the top of the playing cards.

Evaluation

For the brief the cards house I had write my own brief for it which was hard because i never write a brief before so I don’t know where to start but the more I write the easier it gets because I started to know what I was doing. I made a timeline for the brief which I try to stick to while doing this brief however was hard keep to the timeline sometimes because of my health so sometimes it takes me more longer to then others. I made mood broad of two different themes for the playing card details which was to do. I choose theme from the two favourite things Disney and musicals because I have a lot of memories of watching Disney growing up and I always love musicals I have a lot memories going to plays with my family and friends.

The musicals I choose to design my playing cards around is Wicked song lyrics because it has a lot meaning behind them.The other theme for the playing cards is Disney animals because they shows that they can be good and bad and that friends come in all shapes and sizes. The idea I was original going to take forward the theme of musical with using the quotes songs however I end changing the theme because they was more room for development with Disney animals theme where as the musical quotes theme was more limited what I could design and develop for the playing cards.

The character I choose for the stitch because he is my favourite disney character growing up, he was full of energy and always love his friendship with Lilo. The next character is Winnie the pooh I choose this character because he reminds me of watching him on video growing up. The third character is Simba I choose this because I get to feel empathy for the character. The last character Todd from Fox and The Hound I choose the character show that make friends from all walks of life. I felt some of the drawings come out better then others. I wish had the right colours for the characters so that the characters will look like the original characters . For the press of making I take photos of my drawing then uploads the photos on canva to turn them drawing playing cards. I chose on canva what frame to use for the shape of the playing cards then made the drawings into playing cards last thing I did I added playing card suits and number to each of the playing cards. If I do this again I would scale the drawing to the playing card then the other way around.

For the Musical lyrics cards I put quotes for songs from Wicked on to different coloured playing cards and put a drawing that I did of emerald city and the yellow brick road. For the box used the drawing from the back of cards then put the songs names for the musical horizontal on top of with name of the musical at the bottom of the box.

The Disney animals that I used for drawings that are different on front of the playing cards and on the back of the playing cards that I the items, patterns and place link to the characters. For the box I made college of the drawings.

Here final playing card and box for Disney Animal

First playing card is of drawing that I did of stitch on front and on back of the playing cards is of drawing of the pattern on Lilo’s dress.

Second playing card of drawing I did of simba on the front of the playing and for the back I did drawing of pride rock.

Second last playing is drawing I did of the Winnie the Pooh and back of the playing card is drawing of a honey pot.

The last playing cards is of drawing I did of Todd from Fox and The Hound and the back of the playing cards drawing I did leafs.

Added cards suits and numbers to each of the playing cards.

For the box made a college of the drawings I used for the playing cards and developments. 

The cards and box better then expected.

Here the finished playing cards and box for my first idea.

I was going originally going to take the idea for the final idea but I felt I could do more with the Disney animals idea.

For the back the playing cards photo of drawing I did of emerald city and the yellow brick road.

For the front of the playing cards is quest for wicked songs on different coloured background.

For the playing card box I used my drawing of emerald city and yellow brick road with the names of songs going horizontal on the top the box and on bottom has name of the musical.

The box and cards come together well  the colours of cards work nicely with colour on the box
