“Seven hells, th’ wench even pulled m’ flower garden...
...so ye still be needin’ a groundskeeper, aye?”
“Leave? HA!” The highlander’s grin couldn’t have gotten any bigger. There was a fire in his eyes the likes of which one would not reasonably expect after such a terrible attack on the house. “This is th’ stuff I signed up fer! Don’tche worry none, I ain’t goin’ anywhere. I’ll get this place patched up in no time!”

The Gentle Mountain
You wouldn’t think this mountain of a man would be found tending to the tender plants of a garden; hands that looked strong enough to break boulders cradled tiny flowers and growing buds with the utmost care. His voice brought to mind an earthquake as it roared with friendly laughter and his face beamed with a tender smile.
There was something so otherworldly about him, as if he seemed so out of place pulling weeds and painting fences, and yet one couldn’t help but think this is where he belonged, so grounded and friendly.
Such was the warm presence of the one named Einar Stone, and he is always willing to lend a helping hand. Need furniture moved or a fence built? Need an extra hand in the garden or have a parcel that needs delivering or picking up?
Or... perhaps you just need a friend to talk to, a comforting ear to open up to, a warm meal to soothe the soul? You’ll find no gentler a heart to help you feel better.
No matter the need, the mountain will always be there for you.
A Night Out
Einar loved to work, enjoyed a hard day’s labor and the satisfaction of a job well done, but even someone who enjoyed being productive needed some time off.
To that end, the highlander found himself in want of a good bar to spend the evening at and the Burly Barnacle was just opening its doors for the evening. He was never much of a bar-hopping man, though he could handle his alcohol quite well, but it seemed like a cozy enough establishment and the staff was quite the eye-full as well. The moment he’d walked in the door, he was greeted by a large roegadyn in seafaring dress. He’d offered the larger man a grin as he took his place at the bar and ordered the soup and pie for dinner. Both were meals on their own, but Einar had an appetite as big as his smile.
As he ate, he took the time to chat with the workers, ordering up whatever drink one of the roegadyn preferred the most. The drink turned out to be a black, syrupy ale that tastes a bit like tar. While most would think it’d be better used surfacing the hull of a ship, Einar drank the whole thing in a single swallow and asked for another.
He was quick to chat and enjoyed meeting the new people, exchanging a few words with a fellow member of the Agency: Tarot. They ate and drank and enjoyed each other’s company as two more from the agency eventually joined as well, the lady Cerina and Osric. When spirits were high and ale was flowing freely, Tarot and Osric chose to take to the stage and tell jokes.
Einar hardly understood most of them, but the few he did get earned the other men his laugh, spending the rest of the evening nursing one last glass of the dark mystery ale. The food was fantastic as well, enjoying every bite of it, and as the night began to wind down, he started to wonder which of his old friends might be interested in joining him for a night at the tavern when next it opened...

Worthy Challenge
It was a challenge that overwhelmed most people. They would shy away from it, turn elsewhere for something easier when the prospect was presented to them. Einar was not like most people.
They’d all heard the stories, about all the trouble that went on at the Astral Agency manor. It’s what brought him to this place and what encouraged him to find employment there. What he found was a time a lot quieter than he had anticipated. The gardens were well tended, the stables swept, the pond cleaned; had they all been wrong? Was the Astral Agency infinitely more mundane than the laborers of Ul’dah been lead to believe?
He’d come for a challenge, thought he could put his skills to the ultimate test in an environment that saw constant chaos, and yet the hardest thing he’d had to do since joining was help some miqo’te clear out an old storage room; he was, however, rather proud of the plumbing he’d done to get a bath in that room.
But one fateful day was all it took to ignite that spark within him once more, setting his soul ablaze.
There was an attack on the house, one that caused a significant amount of damage. The whole foyer was destroyed and parts of the library, much of the yard in disarray, and now part of the roof had been destroyed because of some thugs thinking they could bribe the agency for protection money! The more combative members had shown them the error of their ways.
However, that still left the house in very poor shape and even the company director had called for the grounds to be off-limits to non-members for the time being. That didn’t matter too much, as Einar’s time had come, a fierce grin on his face as he approached the manor with his collection of tools and a shipment of materials set to arrive any moment now.
His challenge: repair the Astral Agency house and make it better than ever... And Einar loved a good challenge...

Homecoming
“I shed tha’ mantle long ago... maybe it’s time t’ put it back on...”
New Home, New Friends
The Astral Agency was rather infamous. In the taverns and fields of Ul’dah, it seemed like everyone had a story of some crazy shenanigans and goings on happening at the mansion deep in the Goblet. Hells, rumor was even the Immortal Flames got involved and carted someone off a few suns ago! Most would take the rumors and stay as far away from the place as they could...
Einar Stone was not like most people. He’d heard the rumors and all he could think of was the prospect of a steady job doing what he’d do best. He’d spent years in the fields as a hired hand, doing whatever manual labor the bosses required; be it digging holes, carrying boxes, harvesting crops, or just running errands... it was good work, fulfilling for a simple man like he, but it was never stable. Every moon required a new job, but this... this seemed like a chance to finally get himself a proper employer.
The trip to the Goblet was a quicker one, and sooner than anyone could shake a stick at a cactuar, he was at the Agency’s front door.
He could barely contain the smile he had inside himself as he talked with Berrod on the lawn and only moments later had himself signing up as a staff of the house.
The dinner could only end better as another highlander, a man named Autgar, joined the two of them for a dinner of meat stew and bread rolls. The smile finally broke through during their meal and he couldn’t have been happier to have a real home and some new friends to share it with.
