Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In a sense, Eleanorās statement is correct. Preston really is quite the lifesaver. Even if Louis has come to resent that theyāve had to become attached at the hip in recent times. His phone burns in his pocket when he recalls the messages that had led to security tagging along to even the most mundane of outings. Hell, he canāt even buy cigarettes from the gas station, without having to bring Preston along these days. Itād been gruesome stuff, really. & while the text messages have long since been deleted, the comments about his mother & the threats made against his loved ones, leaves his stomach churning uncomfortably. Or perhaps that was due to his mixing of beer & liquor. Frowning momentarily, the Brit merely makes a mental note to check in on Daniel & make sure that everything with Freddie & Briana has been safe, prior to shaking his head free of any such thoughts in order to tilt his head back to glance at Preston.Ā ā Fucking legend, Preston.Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Itās a distraction enough that he almost misses Eleanorās exit ; simply catching part of her farewell & a glimpse of her back as she disappears outside. Admittedly, his relief is short lived & itās barely minutes later that heās searching out an excuse to head out after Eleanor. It comes in the form of Oli, as it typically does.Ā ā Bro, reckon itād be best if you & the girls head out first. Avoid paps nā shit. Iāll grab a smoke & be out in a couple of minutes,Ā ā he comments, thankful that his friend simply responds with a noncommittalĀ shrug. The fact that the blonde takes the hint &Ā climbs off his lap & only seems slightly put out, is also an additional bonus. Louis placates her with a cheeky grope & heavily put on compliment, before heās moving out the door in the direction that he presumes ( & hopes ) Eleanor had headed.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā To be fair, Louis presumes the brunette might not be the happiest to see him twice in one night. But, now that heās spoken to her heās itching for a little more conversation. Like, what sheās been doing ?Ā How her parents are ?Ā How Bruce is ?Ā Dumb shit that heād have always known, once upon a time. So, heās relieved when he spots her leaning against the wall, ducking his head as he moves across.Ā ā Mind if I chill a minute ?Ā ā he questions, digging into the pocket of his hoodie to produce a well deplenished pack of Marlboros.Ā
Eleanor had already decided that no matter what happened, she would have to find a way home from the back of the club where she currently stood. Ā There was no doubt in her mind that once word got out that Louis had been spotted here that paparazzi and fan girls would be swarming the sidewalk out front. The paparazzi didnāt pay her any mind, but she was in no proper shape to deal with anyone who may want a picture with her. Some days she could force it, but it wasnāt looking good for today. It was strange, really. She was absolutely no where near celebrity status, but thanks to her connection to the singer, sheād never really been able to go back to life as ānormal.ā It was much the same for any of the lads family members and friends but sheād been stripped of that title so now for the most part it was just bothersome. She still hoped, for his sake, that the group splitting up made things a little bit easier on him in that regard.
The night air and the cigarette between her lips seemed to help clear her head, at least a little, sheād been starting to feel suffocated inside. No doubt that her head was still swimming, though. There was no way in hell that sober she would ever lean her back against a brick building in a vintage Tommy Hilfiger slip dress. Hopefully there werenāt too many pulls in the flimsy fabric, that would really piss her off in the morning. The cool stones actually offered a bit of relief on her warm skin. Exhaling the smoke that filled her lungs, El could hear the footsteps approaching her, she hadnāt had to look up, she recognized his voice immediately.
His question sounded like a simple one, but it was actually quite loaded. The girl wasnāt really sure how to answer, part of her wanted to tell him to piss off while another part of her just longed to have him around. Heād been a constant for so long in her life that sometimes she still had to stop herself from texting him stupid things that theyād both appreciate, like tshirts with ridiculous sayings she spotted on shopping trips, or song lyrics that reminded her of simpler times. The first part of her answer was a shrug of her shoulders before she spoke, āItās fine.ā She wanted to leave it at that, short, sweet, to the point but her drunken tongue decided to betray her, āI only mind a little, because Iāve not got all my wits about me. I may have had a bit too much to drink.ā It was perhaps the first honest answer sheād given all night.
