I love how sad Hannibal is in these scenes. You can feel truly sorry for him, right? And then you remember that this dumbass is so sad because of the consequences of his own actions and it makes you want to laugh.

Why is he so sad in these scenes? Why does he miss Will?

BECAUSE THERE IS NO WILL IN ITALY WITH HIM. AND WHY IS HE NOT WITH HIM THERE? BECAUSE HANNIBAL LEFT HIM BLEEDING ON THE FLOOR OF HIS BALTIMORE HOUSE AFTER GUTTING HIM AND KILLING THEIR DAUGHTER.
