There’s no rest for the wicked, they say, and in this case that would most certainly be true. Apollyon, the destroyer of gods, was always looking for territory to claim as their own. They would never be satisfied with just one throne- with just one realm to rule… No, Apollyon wanted the universe and every alternate dimension that it was in… and every world in those as well. They wanted to rule; to be the only thing with power. Just the thought of being the supreme being made their face light up in a smile. It would take time, but eventually the universe would belong to them.
But for now, it was time to rest. Apollyon had heard there was a throne in this realm- several, actually, and had decided to hop into it to take them, leaving someone in their place on Mount Olympus. The energy they had used to get there made them feel fatigued and weak- even with all the gods they had under their control, they still weren’t strong enough to hop universes and dimensions with ease. The creature took refuge beside a collection of rocks, sitting in the shade they offered in the sun and was busy replenishing their energy with a freshly killed… worm? Snake? They weren’t sure what this creature was, but it sure was tasty.
In the silence, Apollyon can feel something moving across the earth and, without a blink of an eye, summons their sword and stands, ready to battle.
“You’d be a fool to sneak up on me. Show yourself, creature, and I may just spare your life.”
Vibrations of footsteps were the draw of her attention. Confident in their falls hat led Lamia to this stranger. However, this person wasn’t human. She could summarize that much. A god? None she had ever seen nor heard before. Blood tainted the air, and from the taste, she knew it was a snake. Poor creature to be caught in this thing’s trap. Not that it mattered, for there was no help for it now. Even so, not many these day partook of her serpent kin- something else of an oddity. They didn’t appear the kind to venture out in heat for something so menial. Perhaps this was a way to draw her out.
“A thousand apologies. We naga-kind are intended to slither upon the earth with little sound.” The sword was regarded with a wary glance as the nagini moved towards the open, coiling the reptilian body before him. A raise of hands following to show lack of any weapon, though not to say she was totally defenseless.
“My apatite is sated, and I have no desire to consume anyone soon. I was merely curious as to whom entered this desert without caution.”
