Felix spent most of the morning and all afternoon debating with himself whether he should go to the Welcome Back Bonfire tonight. On one hand, it would be a great way to end his summer with a bang, (almost literally.) On the other, the bonfire was also a celebration for the start of the school year. And he's not sure if going back to school is something he should celebrate. But then again, summer was getting kinda boring, he would then counter himself. He kind of wanted to go... But then again, after some thought, he kind of didn't.
An hour before the start of the bonfire, Felix found himself dressing up and getting ready for it anyway. He decided that he'll stay for the first half hour and get the feel of it. If it turns out to be a bore, he'll just leave. And if he finds a reason to stay, other than the fireworks they'll be displaying that night, he will.
A handful of people were already there when he arrived while a lot more were arriving. His friends, however, are nowhere to be seen. A quick scope of the place confirmed that none of them were there yet. Usually he'd use this opportunity to meet new people but he wasn't in the mood for socializing tonight. And so he simply, grabbed a bottle of beer and a bag of marshmallows and found a quiet place to sit. Felix knew that something was bothering him but he could not pinpoint exactly what.
The boy was lost in thought when his phone vibrated. His thirty minutes were up. As he got up from his chair to leave, he bumped into someone. "Shit. Sorry," Felix half-heartedly muttered.
