Why you need to appreciate this picture more. This is not your typical western. A lot of people called it slow. I call it thoughtful. Watch for the performances by Casey Affleck, who in my opinion, is his most amazing performance to date. I could’ve watched entire films solely comprising of Jeremy Renner, Garrett Dillahunt, and Paul Schnieder’s characters, each bringing their character to the forefront of each scene they hold.

I have heard a rumour that there is a 4 hour cut of the film that I would gladly sit through.

Please give this movie another chance and let the film take you over with its beauty thanks to Roger Deakins, who has claimed this movie over all his others as his own personal best work.

Andrew Dominik’s 2nd feature film after his practically flawless 2000 debut with “Chopper” is confident, beautiful and a feature film that I know people will come back to in the coming years to appreciate it like it should be.

10 years before he Raided the Lost Ark, 26 year old Indiana Jones flees the country after a falling out with his father landing in India where he is taken under the wing of Abner Ravenwood and swept up in the search for the forgotten tomb of Pontius Pilate. A few years ago I decided I would challenge myself and write a big budget summer tent pole movie. This is what I came up with. I was, in no way, shape or form, asked, hired or propositioned to write an Indiana Jones movie. This was a script written purely because I wanted to write it.
