The first time I ever saw (heard?) Michael sheen in something was when he was House in Doctor Who. My mom was so excited, she was saying “oh my god michael sheen is in this!” and i was confused because I didn’t know who he was. Since then I’ve seen him in other things, and in Good Omens. It’s amazing. I‘ve been meaning to read the book.

It's flipped twice. It's from the opposite perspective and it's in a mirror. So, if you didn't realize it's a picture of a mirror, you'd flip your perspective to theirs and conclude that it's the left hand, but no, it's the image from the mirror, so it's the right.

Think about the shirt. If you wore a Pink Floyd shirt, where would the P be on your body? Nearest to your right hand. Now, where's the P on their body? By which hand? The phone hand.

Technically, 2020 is the last year of this decade. Since years start with 1 (there is no year 0), the first decade is year 1 to year 10, the second decade is 11-20 and so on.

But that’s not the way we think.

And yes, I celebrated the new millennia in 2000. That gave me the technical excuse to celebrate it in 2001 as well.

I am genuinely baffled by the “there was no year zero so the decade starts in 2021...” thing. I think it must stem from people getting the idea of what a decade is confused with the whole “when does the new millennium start?” stuff from 20 years ago.

Just to put people’s minds at rest, a decade is word with a dictionary definition. And a new one started earlier this week.

With all due respect @neil-gaiman , this has confused me more than anything because when I look up 21st century on Wikipedia, it shows me the 21st century starting on 2001, Jan 1, but the decades are listed either as the 20s encompasing ‘20 to ‘29 or the 223rd decade. Im baffled and was wondering why the disceepencey?

There isn't a discrepancy. A decade runs from a year ending in zero to a year ending in 9. Then a new decade starts. That's how a decade is defined and how it works.

The problem comes when people start folding in rules that apply to centuries or millennia and trying to apply them to decades. Which don't work like that, per the definition of a decade.

A.D. time started with the year 1. It went from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. So 1-10 would be the first decade. Decade is 10 years.

This would mean that the next decade is 11-20. And the next is 21-30. The dictionary definition of a decade is “a period of 10 years, especially one that begins with a year ending in 0.” But there is no year 0. There is year 1. So the dictionary definition is either adding a year that didn’t exist or disregarding the first 9 years.

I don’t mean any disrespect, I really admire you, but i had to comment haha. I had this discussion with my dad the other day.
