Fun Facts #6
Josen loves his brother, their guardians and their father, but he’s bitter that he didn’t get to experience his teen years. He spend the years from when he was around 13 taking care of his brother like a parent instead of being there for him as a brother. Their father’s distance and the disappearance of their guardians only made it harder on him. He had also been slowly degrading so his life was already difficult enough.
Fun Fact #5
Josen wasn’t particularly close to either of his parents when he lived with them. Both were rather busy running a kingdom but still made time to spend time with him. He was also rather confined when he was younger because his immune system is compromised so he didn’t really leave a small section of their home.
It wasn’t until Halex was born and their mother died that Josen really regretted not getting to spend more time with the two rulers.
Fun Facts #4
In addition to being soft and fuzzy, Josen’s ears make his hearing more sensitive than a humans. He can hear much higher sounds and a lot of sounds that would be at a normal volume for a human is louder for him. So please don’t shout around him, he doesn’t like it.
His ears also have a free range of motions and will move with his emotions or when he’s listening for sounds.
Fun Fact #3
Josen’s ears are very soft and nice to pet. However, they are also ridiculously sensitive. He doesn’t like them being touched unless he gave his express permission to do so. For those he does give permission to, he likes scratches right at the base. Scratching his ears at the base will make him purr.
Fun Facts #2
In his original verse, Josen doesn’t have a heart or lungs. The species of demon that he is have a sort of ‘core’ instead that produces magic and acts like a circulatory system. They have a very basic digestive and reproductive system but magic takes place of blood and such.
So rather than having AVSD in his original verse, Josen has a hole in his core. So unlike the rest of his species, he can’t use magic in any way shape or form. His magic is too busy keeping him alive to function outside of fixing that core.
Additional fact, the core magic comes in many different colors and you can tell an eht demon’s magic color by their eye color. That is also the color they will bleed.
Fun Facts #1
Josen is the oldest of two kids. He’s 10 years older than his younger brother and actually tends to take on a more parental role vs a big brother role. His younger brother’s name is Halex and he’s a total brat. The two are very close and are usually seen together.

Some things about Josen and his design. I’m really in an art mood rn especially for my boy so
Josen needed a break from worrying. Which honestly wasn’t actually possible, he was a worrier. It was just how he was. Growing up being basically the sole guardian for a brother 10 years your younger will do that to a person. And not having his brother in his sights was only making it worse.
So, in an effort to distract himself from worrying, he’d taken over Hummingbird hotel’s kitchen. At least temporarily. He was covered in flour (which blended in rather well with his hair for the most part,) and was so busy kneading a pile of dough on the counter, that he didn’t hear someone walk in.
So when he was addressed, he jumped, let out a screech, and very nearly dropped the dough on the floor. Luckily, he caught it before it got too far. But he still had to smooth down the fur on his ears as he turned to whoever addressed him. “I’m sorry, what?”

What he might be viewed as in the eyes of any ordinary bystander was a simple “neet”, a person with no value of society, but even so, even here and now he was still the Fairy King. The Sacred Tree and the Fairy King’s forest had to exist somewhere, and as long as it did, his duty was to act as the guardian of the forest. But every so often he supposed it might have been nice to experience even a slight sense of familiarity in this futuristic cityscape.
– “ ?! This scent? ”
Almost on cue a calming aroma entered his nostrils to drown out the stench of the city, and following it, King found his wings taking him to a small establishment, priding itself in multiple coloured plants and herbs. For this many plants to be gathered in one place, plucked from their spots in nature, could this mean…?
– “ Is this some form of sorcerer’s workshop? ”
Working at a flower shop was more enjoyable than Josen had anticipated. Besides having a low physical demand, the scents were pleasant and the people who came in generally were as well. It was a calm atmosphere. Which was exactly what he needed.
He was going around watering and generally checking on the plants around the shop when a (seeming) child walked- er- flew in. He walked up to the kid and offered a smile. “Is something the matter?”
☽ Y’know, on one hand, winding up in some strange place with no recollection of ever going there was pretty concerning. It could be worse, really, but still concerning. And–being greeted by a sheep was pretty damn high on the list of ‘weird things he’s seen in his lifetime.’
…But it seems like there’s not really a way to get back home; he’s looked, mainly out of the concern that he can’t seem to find his sister anywhere here, but he’d had a place there and people he valued and now he was just kind of… stuck here. At least from wandering around, the place looks nice enough, so it’s not like he’d gotten kidnapped and shoved into some horror movie scenario.
Now, he was– he was going to go back to the hotel he’d woken up in, but the sounds of someone coughing up a storm catches his attention instead. Kuro’s feet come to a halt, and it takes a second of peering around before he actually finds where it’s coming from. At this rate they’re sounding like they could literally cough up their lungs at any second–ah, geez. That’s generally a bad sign.
“Oi, oi,” he makes his way over with a hint of caution; since he hasn’t spoken to anyone here yet, that’s probably the best course of action. That, and startling the poor guy wouldn’t do him any favors. “You gonna be alright? You needin’ a hospital or somethin’ like that…?”
He didn’t even know where or if there even was a hospital, but if need be he could figure it out.

Physical anything was never a good thing for Josen to do. He knew that. It wasn’t like it was something new. So why on earth had he decided that racing around the city looking for his brother rather than calmly walking around would be a good idea? Clearly, he had issues.
Now he was bent over, basically coughing up a lung at this point. The coughing fit had been going on long enough that he barely registered someone speaking to him. When he did register the words, he reached out to grab the other’s sleeve.
“Water...Get...water.” He managed to get out between coughs. He really needed to get this cough under control before anything else.

Cynthia was in the process of attempting to beat her old fasting shelving record. Running in the library was a grave offense, but if you did it as quietly as possible then no one would know. That’s all it took! One last book, and if she did this perfectly then she would have beaten her time by 45 whole seconds. Racing around the corner she skidded to a stop before she nearly slammed into someones cart.
“Oh, jeez.” There goes her record. “No, no I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been speeding around the corner like that. I just sort of assumed no one was up here since this section of the library is usually empty.” Cynthia gestured to the lack of people other than themselves in the nearby vicinity.
Josen sighed. At least she was okay. “You probably shouldn’t be running in the library. Regardless of the amount of people around.” He couldn’t help but laugh a little bit, though.
“Why were you running around, if you don’t mind my asking? There’s not generally a reason to rush around a library.” He returned to his cart of books as he asked the question. Just because they were going to converse didn’t mean he couldn’t do his job.

Wandering around the city when he didn’t have work or volunteer work had become one of Josen’s past times. He was mostly trying to see if his brother had shown up while he wasn’t paying attention, but seeing the sites was always nice. He was hanging out at the Starlight Garden when a fly buzzed too close to his ear.
At first, he just kind of twitched his ear to get it to go away. But it was rather insistent so he ended up smacking at it...and smacking a person instead. “Oh my gods! I am so sorry! Are you alright?”
