threads with the lovely @diigne, @halfvampirehalflycan, @icarusburning, @inacciaio, @lilylacey, @scnja, @varcolacui, & @warwagcd would be continued over there if you guys want. :)
varcolacui:
‘‘— VAGUE. The words you speak.’‘
But he is no FOOL. He knows. Oh, he knows very well what such a cross inquiry desires to be answered. Is the topic of his newfound nature one of comfort? Absolutely not, as even he, is still trying to understand himself, AGAIN.
“Very well. I shall be blunt.”
He could have asked for permission, but he was used to giving orders. With his father dead, he was lord, answerable to none. Or so he believed.
“Are you the one who turns into a WOLF?”
for @icarusburning
“What....do you WANT?”
The man smelled of them. The growling beasts that attempted to hide in his resting place. The tomb had since cracked, blood had dripped into his mouth, and...he was ALIVE? How, he didn’t know. But he disliked it when people trespassed, and he wanted this one gone.
for @wiilhelmina
Centuries had passed since his daughter’s death. The mighty coven that once lived in a remote for- tress now had a home in Ordoghaz, a lavish home on the outskirts of the city. It was during the last few years of his current reign that Viktor had found a new love in the form of the opera, which he went to almost every night.
Most of the guests knew better than to mingle with the members of his retinue. That is, all but a couple of giggling women. He shot them a look and made his way to the private box. His regent, Kraven, seemed to have other plans, as he invited the two to sit with him.
for @varcolacui
“Is it true what they say?”
He wasn’t the type to believe the RUMORS. Especially those that involved the supernatural and the inexplicable. If the man could turn to a wolf, then he was either impressive or a THREAT.
warwagcd:
though selene wishes to keep up this angry facade, viktor’s hand at her cheek comforts her. she believes him, eyes hooding over as she sighs. ❛ no. ❜ her voice is soft as her darkened gaze focuses back on her father. ❛ do you wish me to train harder? how can i prove to you that i’m completely ready? ❜ anything to make him happy.
“No. Learn one final, important lesson.”
She was more than ready. He could see that. Everyone could. But a part of him wasn’t; he feared losing her to another of those beasts. It felt too soon. However, he promised her the chance at revenge.
And that was what he was going to give her.
His hand dropped to his side, his tone emphasizing the next word.
“PATIENCE. The next Lycans we see are all yours."
halfvampirehalflycan:
Michael seemed skeptical, not sure whether or not to trust the words of the vampire elder who had lied to his mate and attempted to kill him. He knew both he and Selene had their backs against the wall, the humans coming up against them. He could survive what they threw at him no problem, sure, but his concern was Selene.
“How do I know I can trust you? I highly doubt that you are just going to let me live after everything is said and done. When I’m not of any use as an ally anymore, what are you going to do then? What about Selene?”
He had no faith in Viktor, worried that he would just be killed, or at least an attempt would be made on his life. Not to mention what Viktor could do to his mate. That was something he definitely wouldn’t stand for. If they were to make an alliance, Michael would have to make sure she was safe before continuing forward.
“If I agree to this, you have to promise me that no matter what happens to me, you won’t hurt Selene. After all is said and done, if you still want to kill me that’s fine, but you won’t hurt her.”
“And how do I know I can trust either of you? What is more important, Michael? Survival, or a grudge?”
He didn’t reply to Michael’s questions. Not yet. Deep down, he knew that if he promised not to hurt Selene, he eventually would. Killing the hybrid was the quickest way to hurt Selene, and he was aware of this. But the faithless and thankless Death Dealer had made her decision when she DEFENDED Michael. He was no longer bound to protect or care for her.
“I shall not hurt her. Or you. Does my word SUFFICE? Even my current cooperation has its limits.”
There it was. A promise -- no, an OATH -- that he wouldn’t hurt Selene or Michael. But he made no promises that he wouldn’t have other people do it for him.
inacciaio:
Her gaze was sympathetic, but above all curious. Semira was curious of how she could help. After all, she saw Viktor as not only her mentor, but a father-figure as well. Her sire had been the closest thing to a family Semira ever had.
“We live in craven times.” Semira agreed. “Some would see an entire city in flames just to make their lives more comfortable.”
“Indeed we do. But how would you DEAL with such people?”
He didn’t think anyone could be as devious or as cunning as he. Then SHE came, with her plots and strategies. Besides his daughter, he saw no other who was worthy of being regent. Certainly not KRAVEN.
diigne:
there was a bright toothy smile that soon softened along with the rest of her youthful features. it was a little sad, for the lack of a better word, ❛ NONSENSE father, fondness is such a FOOLISHLY theory. ❜ words are spat from the plumpest of lips, pulled from the strongest of lungs. bitter. cold. words are not honeyed, not smooth off the tongue ; but rather they bite. ❛ are they not here to torment? perhaps the lycan may take their place? ❜ pathetic, sonja. you sound like a weeping child. not the WARRIOR you’re raised to be.
“Then is it FOOLISH for a father to be fond of his child?”
Her easy dismissal of the notion didn’t hurt him. He had taught her not to be reeled in by the notion of love, believing that she would need it during training. He wasn’t keeping her from love; just from the distraction it provided. She was so young...she had YEARS ahead of her to find a vampire mate. He would have her fierce before she became....besotted.
“And do not forget they are our allies. We would not be where we are without the rest of our kin.”
He stood beside her then, a hand placed on her shoulder.
scnja:
though she hears her father’s approach with ease, she refuses to react. her response is even delayed, for his own betrayal stings just as much as hers does to him. ❛ and why should i do that, father? ❜ the vampire challenges, sonja hardly believing the elder deserves what he’s asking for. her gaze is dark as she meets his, her plump pout thinned as she waits for an answer.
“Give me a reason.”
But he remained vague. A reason for WHAT? To end her suffering and that of the child growing inside of her? Or a reason to defy his own order and set her free? Ilona would not have wanted their only daughter to die, but she wouldn’t have allowed the Covenant to be broken. To have a hybrid exist in the world.
To be father or Vampire Elder? What should he be when faced with such a personal offense?
warwagcd:
truly, selene enjoys giving her father a hard time. he’d driven her sister away, after all, leaving the younger woman to deal with all of his judgments and scoldings. maybe it’s because of the separation from her sister that she’s turned to listening to this music, even singing it against viktor’s pleas and put downs, but she’d never admit it regardless. ❛ you’re just jealous, father. you don’t need to say anything… your secret is safe with me. ❜ selene loves the man, of course she does, but he’s still got a multitude of flaws to deal with before he can save his relationship with both of his daughters. turning the music down after standing up from her bed, the dark haired woman crosses her arms before coming to a halt before him. ❛ there something you need? ❜ lips thin, a single brow quirking. she lives at home still, not that she necessarily wants to, but she also has no reason to leave. and it’s not all bad with viktor…
“Do I have any left?”
Muttering something about tabloids and pesky paparazzi, he turned and downed the last of his vodka. It was not even noon and he was already drinking. A world record.
When his daughters were younger, he made sure that they were kept out of the public eye. He was fine being attacked by vicious columnists, but it was another thing to drag Sonja and Selene into the shit- storm that was his profession. But he did have a few flaws. He wasn’t going to win any awards for ‘Father of the Year.’ Looking up at his younger daughter, he said:
“No. Nothing that you’ve already heard. Have you gotten any message from your sister yet? Family dinner is coming up next week.”
[enter me, right after first waking up, hair a mess, groggy and disoriented as hell, stumbling around without full awareness of my surroundings and existence yet, clutching the counter just trying to mentally wake up]
someone: hey sleeping beauty! you're finally up
me: [softly, while eyes are closed] i'll kill you
