leader-of-team-go:
Are you visiting from New York? Those words almost broke his heart to remember there had been those times were he’d come back here only to just leave her once again. Harrison never wants to do that again, even if it’s just to remain friends it’d be worth it. “I’ve missed you Attina.” He said softly resting his chin on her shoulder for a moment, also completely ignoring that fact Attina had dropped something. If it had hurt her it would have been another story, but she was safely in his arms now. The way her hugs felt like a warm ocean breeze calmed his worry. “Not this time. I’m hoping to stay for good. I actually plan on retiring which makes me sound old, but the city doesn’t need me anymore. Not like it used to.” For so long he had put the citizens of New York first above all else. Never once thinking of what he had put aside to protect it. But now his brothers were grown and didn’t need him to lead them anymore. “I umm brought us some food to catch up over. It is reheat-able if you still have work to do we can save it for later.” He reluctantly said as he didn’t want to remove himself from this embrace. But alas, the Italian food hanging from his hand was beckoning.
Attina knew how busy Harrison always was. Saving the world was a twenty-four seven job after all. He visited when he could but the red head always found herself counting down the days until he left again. It was heartbreaking every time they had to say goodbye. Though they hadn’t seen each other in some time his words made her breath catch. “I’ve missed you too, you know.” She replied softly against his chest. Attina had never been the most emotional of her sisters but she could still feel the tears beginning to sting her eyes. She tried to compose herself quickly not wanting Harrison to see such a mess. He had just arrived after all. After slowly moving herself from his embrace she smiled warmly up at him. Her body feeling wobbly from all the adrenaline and excitement. “Retiring?” That was enough for Attina to double over and fall to the floor, yet she stood still as a statue through the shock. She never thought Harrison would return to Santa Monica, the world seemed to have much bigger plans for him. “Harrison, the world will always need you. Even if you can’t see it.” It was true, but she couldn’t help but to feel a tad bit selfish that she was happy that he was staying. “Oh! No, we can eat now! I m-mean--technically I'm not on the clock, was just doing research on my own time. But I would love that.”
