Where are people reading Uncanny X-men as it’s coming out? Marvel unlimited uploads them like three months after the release dates and I keep getting spoilers on Instagram 😭
Is there another place to get it digitally?
When is someone gonna let me fall asleep with my head on their chest
One of the reasons people headcanon Grace as aromantic is the unfortunately realistic scene where they go "you don't have a family or a loved one" as if that's enough of a justification to send him on a suicide mission. As if not having a family makes Grace inherently less valuable and means he should be more willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
Grace wasn't sad and lonely, he was happy, he had a good life, he very much did not want to die. They have to do a looney tunes chase sequence and drug him because Grace was *very* unwilling to be the sacrificial lamb. Humanity's savior was dragged kicking and screaming into the role and called selfish for daring to be a coward, as if most of us wouldn't be.
And then he befriends Rocky, who never demands a sacrifice from him, who willingly prolongs his journey home so Grace can go back to his. Rocky has a mate back home and his species depends on his return, and still risks his life to save his squishy human friend. And Grace returns the favor.
And thus the power of friendship saves two planets.
Thanks @rackiera for the idea
I love this movie so much
the aroace read of ryland grace is so personal and haunting. "you don't even have a dog." was it not enough to love the world for the sake of living in it. was it not enough to live for the thrill of discovery. was it not enough to smile at your students. was it not enough to be afraid.
They’d have a lot to talk about I think
my daily affirmation as an author
sometimes i just sit and think to myself i want the hard parts of a relationship. i want the messy days, the slowly figuring out boundaries, the adjustments to having a life partner when you've been alone your whole life. i want the moments of dissonance. because i want the reassurance afterward. i want the forgiveness. i want to put in the work because i want to see how it pays off. i want to look back on the road we took ten years from now and then look and the present moment and think this is what we've built. this is what we worked for. i want the ugly parts. i want everything. i want a love so strong that the ugly parts get loved too.
aww I’m just now processing that they knew something was going wrong so they both ran down the aisle to try to get the ring on her finger before everything totally fell apart
the first time i cried in thunderbolts was when they all worked together to save that woman from the chunk of a building
superhero movies are about people who have the ability to help people and choose to do so
that isn’t all there is but i think the mcu has gotten so focused in the weeds of the multiverse and inner group politics and whatever that they forgot that the reason we watch superhero movies is because we want to watch good guys fight bad guys, but more importantly, we want to watch them help people because that’s why they fight the bad guys in the first place
Thinking about Southern Gothic! Gambit…
Mutants are something of southern folklore. Remy was told the stories as a boy and learned to hide his differences not long there after.
He’s back home in New Orleans. Gambling, drinking, and running with the Thieves Guild. He’s not a good man, but he’s got morals—albeit loose ones—and there’s plenty worse things than him crawling around the big easy. Even when you ignore those wrong eyed beings left lurking in the humid night air.
He comes out of the bar one night and runs into you, who’s in turn running away from something. His curiosity—along with that flirtatious spirit of his—gets the best of him, and he wastes no time stepping in to protect you from this thing. His daddy was never around, but his mama made sure he was brought up right—to know how to treat a woman and when a man should step in.
He pulls you down an alleyway and covers your mouth with his hand, using the other to ready a card. You barely have time to process what’s happening, but you nonetheless hedge your bets. Maybe it was the confidence he radiated or how he never ceased in reassuring you in that deep, accented voice of his, but you knew in that moment—as his hand departs your mouth and splay protectively across the sticky, exposed skin above your ribs— that you’d follow him anywhere. You’d never question your sudden devotion, even with all you’d see in the season that followed.
You knew full well to grab onto a good thing when you found it, but you hadn’t yet learned what to do when bad things found you.

Here's to the people who can't get the words on the page. The people who are too tired after all life throws at them to write. The people who are blocked. The people who are burnt out. The people who can't write because of physical or mental illnesses. The people who don't know why they can't write. And the people struggling with all those other things that get in the way of writing and make it seem or be impossible.
You're still a writer, you're still an artist. And you matter. This world is better since you're in it. Thank you for wanting to write, even if you can't right now. I hope you and your words find each other soon.
everyone's all about queer subtext until it's aromantic or asexual
