“GENIUS huh? i always knew i was a genius.” gene told her with a smile, “i mean i could maybe call you that once or twice. what the hell? you can’t cut my curls off! they are my third best feature.” his eyes widen comically when she says twenty five, “can i be there when you tell them? i really wanna hear them freak out.”
“ that is not why I called you genius. “ ele rolled her eyes, shaking her head at the other. “ third best feature ?? sorry to break it to you, but you definitely don’t have two other best features. “ she thought for a second, weighing the pros and cons of gene being there when she told her parents. “ you know, that might not be the worst idea ever. maybe they wouldn’t kill me if you’re there. “
GENE’S mouth rounds to an o and then he starts laughing, pointing towards nora. “ohhhh damn! you are going to get killed!! i can’t believe you spilled paint in your room, maybe we should start calling you klutzy nora?” he’s laughing now, before tilting his head to look at her hands. “how bad is it?”
“ yes, genius, i know. “ ele ran her hand through her hair, forgetting that they were covered in only half dried paint. “ fucking hell. “ she muttered. not only was paint all over her shirt and hands, but it was now in her hair as well. “ no, you will never call me that. unless you want me to chop all your curls off, then go ahead. “ eleonora smirked at him before looking down at the stain on the floor. “ on a scale of one to ten ?? i'd say about a twenty five. “
“hypothetical question turned personal real quick, huh?” gray chuckled, eyeing her paint covered top and inhaling a deep breath. “could just buy a carpet to cover it all up. or— i’m sure there’s a way to get it out? could help ‘ya if you want.” he shrugged, pulling out his phone to search for any solutions to her little predicament. “got nothing better to do anyway.”
“ maybe... “ she laughed, picking off some of the paint that had gotten on her hands. “ yeah, I've been thinking about doing that, but I don’t know how to sneak a carpet in here without my parents noticing.” ele looked down at the spot, examining it. she’s gotten paint out of her carpet before, though it always requires a lot of work. “ I might just have to try to get it out. and if you don’t mind, I would love some help. since it’s quite difficult to do. “
“how big is this spill we’re talking about? you’re talking to the master of not getting in trouble when i should.” she mused, pressing a finger to her temple, “i say, we get you a nice, cute rug. put some of the paint on the BOTTOM of the rug in the shape of your spill. then, say you got the rug at a yard sale and it was their fault the paint is on the floor.”
“ ummm, it’s not that big of a spill. it could be a lot worse. “ she shrugged. “ you know, that’s actually not a horrible idea. hopefully with the rug on top then they won’t even notice, and then I have the paint story as a cover up if they ever find it. “
“ eleonora bianchi if you spilled that acrylic paint on the carpet I might have a stroke ! ” her mother yelled from behind the closed door. just a the mention of spilled paint made her skin crawl. she’d always been a little obsessive compulsive, especially when it came to their family’s home. with a platter of her homemade red velvet cookies in hand, the woman barged into the room.
ele bit her lip, stepping in front of the paint splattered carpet in hopes of hiding it from her mother. “ sooo... i'm guessing the answer to that hypothetical question would be yes. “ the brunet raised her eyebrows, an innocent smile on her face.
“ okay, hypothetical question; if one was to spill paint on their bedroom floor, do you think their parents would kill them ??” eleonora’s hands and shirt were covered in light blue paint. this was a pretty common thing for the girl, since she was fairly clumsy, things always slipped out of her hands and paint splatters ended up on the floor. “ because if so, I might be dead. “
