i suppose they never warn you that liking sports is actually a forever thing because usually when you hyperfixate on something after you stop consuming the media (in my personal experiences) you eventually drift away from the source material, and not that you can never pick it up again or that it doesn't stay with you somewhere in the background of your life. the thing is, the beauty of sports is that there's a cycle in which you never ever stop recieving the source material, and if you leave it for .5 seconds, something else happens, regardless if it's good or bad.

I'm crying laughing. Everyone doing their best to deny having a competitive car, let alone a dominant one, and Charles Leclerc, 0,6s slower than mclaren, is out there like 'this is much better than I expected, I can work with that'.

The way Charles is explicitly manifesting that championship in every interview, caption, aesthetic choice is so powerful to me…there’s nothing quite like the passion of an athlete locked into his childhood dream and we’re right there with him.

At the end of the day one of the most compelling aspects of sports is the stories and meaning we find in the narratives and this one feels deeply poetic. I have no idea what this year will bring but I feel the passion in my bones.
