I don't understand why people are mad Yumi wants to fall in love and to date and why that's considered a character failure. Isn't this a romcom??? I think it's been established pretty well the last couple of seasons that she can live well but flourishes when she is in love. That's why her prime cell was always the Love Cell. Sometimes I wonder if people are just projecting their own issues or don't understand shows like this at all.

Antis actually complaining over Kim Go Eun being on this list??? Not because she's not deserving but because "she's always nominated." Well, I see a spot on this that could have gone to your fave whoever it is. Because one of these things is not like the others. There's serious acting power on that list — except for one.

fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.

Two actors in two dramas premiering around the same time are being accused —unfairly IMO — of showing no emotions: Lovely Runner dude from Perfect Crown and Yumi's new dude in Yumi's Cells. I mean, I don't think you'll find either of them on a Baeksang list anytime soon but for the first couple of episodes of thier shows where they aren't exactly being asked to do much, they did perfectly fine.

But one series I'm continuing, the other I'm dropping. I gave both two episodes each to convince me and I needed just half of the first ep of Yumi's Cells to figure out it'd be fun seeing Yumi ragebaited into love by the puppy-ish new dude. With Perfect Crown meanwhile I'm struggling to see any chemistry between Lovely Runner dude and IU. Maybe it'll show up when IU finally settles into her role. But right now she seems to be trying just a little too hard.

I love that Zhu Yu essentially spent 15 episodes selling me the idea of a relatively reasonable, level headed Xie Zheng, who only had occasional brushes with insanity... and then episodes 16 and 17 arrived, and the drama switched to "lol, no, actually he IS the insane man you recall from the novel, he just had to install hinges temporarily so that he would fit in as Fan Changyu's matrilocal husband".

I'm caught up on Pursuit of Jade and will start reblogging these wonderful observations and GIFS but I have a pressing question: What is Li Huaian's *$%@ point? I understand the series had to merge some characters or alter what they do like Gen. Tang Peiyi being the dam dude but other than giving some of Gen. Zheng Wenchang's lines and actions to Huaian, I'm not sure what their plan for him is. Where are they taking his character???

Was there an explanation as to the presence of Koreans in Bridgerton world? There have always been Asians on the show but since they were always in the background I didn't have to put much thought. But the show has put Korean characters in front me and I have to ask how?? Because Korea was extremely isolationist during this period. How there are Koreans as part of the ton during this period in British history? Maybe this is another example of "things that only exist in Bridgerton world?"

Finding out Araminta is played by Katie Leung who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies is throwing me off my axis tbh. Aren't we the same age? Is this why my own mother, despite not a Regency era matriarch, is obsessed with my matrimonial prospects?? ¡Qué horror!

Why are people mad Lady Bridgerton is nagging Eloise about getting married?? Do they not understand the premise of Bridgerton — and many other similar period novels? Getting their children married is the whole point! It's their primary preoccupation! It's not "child abuse" as I saw a few people on Twitter refer to it, geez Louise.

I keep forgetting not everyone has read the book and so there are many theories right now on how Benedict finds out who Sophie is and a lot of them are, to quote Bridgerton denizens, "quite delightful." I particularly like the one that has Anthony seeing drawings of the masked lady on his desk and wondering why Benedict is sketching the new lady's maid!
