Evelyn had been drifting from one stall to the next, fingers trailing over fabrics and trinkets with the kind of easy curiosity that came from simply enjoying the moment. When Elena’s voice rang out, delighted and insistent, she couldn’t help but laugh. With a theatrical tilt of her head, she turned toward Elena as though she were about to step onto a runway. A playful pose followed, lips pursed like some glossy magazine model, held just long enough to make it clear she was in on the joke.
Then she eased the hat back off, glancing at the price tag with a soft smile. “I’ve always been more of a browser than a buyer,” she admitted lightly, though the brightness in her eyes betrayed just how much she was enjoying herself.
"So gorgeous!" she exclaimed, pulling out her cellphone during the redhead's poses to snap a few photos. It was nice to just enjoy the moment and see Evelyn be absolutely radiant. "Say you'll let me get it for you, Evie," she insisted, watching Evelyn pull off the hat and seem less interested in it upon seeing the price. It broke her heart a little to see her turn around so quickly. "Don't even think about it, okay? You should have it. We need the little pleasures sometimes," Elena said warmly. "And this'll make both of us happy."
