Disapointed Hopes

Today was a rough day. For me I might sound crazy, but even with all of the awful things that happened today, It was a truly beautiful day.Once God put something in front of me and said, “You know my plan for you,do you choose it?” I tried to make it my own by putting my own hopes and desires when he had asked me to do something different. I had my plan figured out perfectly. But for the dream, the world said I was incappable. And God said to me, “Follow me, trust my plan, and you will see how you are capable.” This all happened today. The world stuck me in a category of not ready to pursue dreams and God said to me, “You’re ready.” My trust is in him, and what he has promised me. Even though my hopes were disappointed and my heart ached from it, It taught me that when you try to take over and God has a plan, it will go a lot farther with his plan.

When I want conversation to continue I begin with a question and wait for the answer until I can move to another question.

Although It Hurts

The pain is not pretty. The hurt is not fun. When you lose someone close, when a friend moves away, when you go through a break up, it hurts. Trust me I know. Even though it hurts now I promise it gets better. It might take years, or months or days, but in my own experience looking back even the worst of days bring good. Maybe you losing someone brings your family closer. Maybe your friend moving away brings opportunity for them to grow. Maybe a rough break up is set in the right time for you to prepare your heart to wait on the one that is rightly set for you. Maybe the sad things aren't always so bad. Even though they hurt (and rightly so they do) we can still see the good. Mourn, yes, but when the mourning is over let it be turned into dancing and rejoicing. Because the way it goes could ultimately be the better way.

Beauty

I woke up today and got dressed for school. I looked at myself in the mirror and put on this shirt I knew everyone would like. I put my hair up and put on some makeup (something I hardly do). All of a sudden I looked at myself and God said, "Why?" I looked at myself in deep thought and I said aloud, "I'm not sure." He then said, "Try again and this time do what you like." This may seem like a cliche thing to talk about, but the truth is a lot of us do it. And I come to realize that the moments I don't strive for being noticed are the moments people see God in me. I just have to let myself get out the way.

The only way to see the fire start is for a match to be set. If we don't light our match, a fire won't happen.
