Park City Live is a Park City favorite. Located in the middle of Main Street, sandwiched between Rock & Reilly's and O'shucks, at 427 Main Street.
We cannot express our sadness for the BEST MUSIC VENUE shutting its doors for the season! This season had some big names and even bigger shows.
Kiefer Sutherland (Actor, 24 & Designated Survivor) closed the season in a way only Jack Bauer could. He performed originals, and only one cover. The crowd ate it up.
Deadmau5
Deadmau5 was sold out, so they added a second show. We went for the ears. He didn’t disappoint.
Nervo - this was maybe the most fun we had! We were fortunate to meet the girls backstage with the owner. Nervo has written for everyone - Miley Cyrus, David Guetta, Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, and the list goes on... They also put on a high-energy, fun show!
Big Boi from Outkast. INCREDIBLE!!!
Party Favor. We didn’t get a great picture. Too busy enjoying the show!
These don’t even cover what AMAZING talent Park City Live was able to secure this year!
THANK YOU TONS FOR A FABULOUS SEASON. WE’LL SEE YOU ON NOVEMBER 1, 2018!!! 🎸🤘🏻🎶💯
Park City is great in the "off season." It's less crowded, the weather is usually nice, and many restaurants have fabulous specials (check out: https://www.parkrecordonline.com/restaurants/category/diningdeals/).
The one thing you have to look out for is those restaurants who take off the "shoulder season."
Open Restaurants Include:
Bangkok Thai on Main
Blind Dog* (nightly specials at the bar)
Brass Tag @ Deer Valley Resort
Butcher's
Eating Establishment
Escala Provisions Company @ Hyatt
Fuego Bistro and Pizzeria
Ghidotti's
Glitertind and Troll Hallen Lounge @ Stein Eriksen Lodge*
Powder Restaurant @ Waldorf Astoria*
Squatters*
Wasatch Brew Pub
Sushi Blue
Versante Hearth + Bar @ Peaks Hotel*
Sure, everyone knows Park City for its world-class mountains. A local Park City saying is “Come for the Winter, stay for the Summer” – meaning, most folks come for the winter, but fall in love in the summer (and move here). Between that period... is Spring! One could argue it’s the most underrated season in Park City…
WHY?
Weather
As goldilocks would say, “It’s neither too hot, nor too cold… it’s juuuusstt right!” That’s kind of how we feel about Park City in the Spring. The weather is amazing. The trees regrow leaves, flowers bloom and the grass grows tall – it’s gorgeous.
The Great Outdoors
Perfect weather – perfect time to get outdoors! Park City has endless trails, which are great for hikers of all levels and mountain bikers. It’s also a great time to hit the water – fish, paddleboard, rent a canoe! Otherwise, take in the beautiful landscape and enjoy a hot air balloon ride at sunset or sunrise.
Resort Activities
Head over to Utah Olympic Park, Park City Mountain Resort, or Sundance Resort for the roller coaster, alpine slide, and zip lines. MUCH faster lines!
Spring Ski
There’s nothing better than shredding some layers and then shredding powder. You won’t freeze as you fly down the mountain, and it’s generally significantly less busy.
Dining Deals
Park City is known for its fine dining. With more than 100 restaurants, you are sure to find something you’ll love! Many restaurants are on the high end (hey, we’re a resort town), BUT during the Spring – many of the best places offer two-for-one specials or half off (For example: Prime Steakhouse, Handle, Blind Dog, etc.)
Affordability
In addition to restaurant discounts, many activities also offer early season specials.
**PLUS – WE OFFER SPECIAL RATES **
Mud Season concerns
Restaurant Closings: Yes, many restaurants close. Again, with over 100 – you’ll find the best ones still open!
Trails Closed: While some trails may be more difficult or closed, Park City has a TON of trails. Nothing to worry about.
Park City’s most well-known bar. Great for the whole family. Great for watching sports. There may be a line outside, but it moves fast. They have an outdoor rooftop (heated) where you get nice views of Main Street.
The Spur
http://thespurbarandgrill.com
Great atmosphere with live music. The crowd is mixed and generally based on who is performing. The first bar is generally empty, so it’s easy to grab a seat, a drink, and talk to your friends. Do a shot ski here. J
Downstairs
http://downstairspc.com
The only real club in Park City. Buy a table, set up by the bar, or hit the dance floor. High energy, contemporary décor, and loud music. GREAT choice for bachelor or bachelorette parties.
The Cabin
http://thecabinparkcity.com
Another place for live music (on the weekends and frequently during the week). Sometimes it’s wall-to-wall crowded, other times it can be fairly empty. Fun photo booth and pool. Great staff.
Rock & Reilly’s
http://rockandreillys.com
Fun ambience. They frequently have DJs or live music. It gets a little messy late night. The later the night goes, the bigger the dance floor gets. Photo booth. Expect to see folks taking shots.
Deer Valley Summer Music Headliner’s Announced! 🎤🎸🎶🏞
If you’ve spent any time at all in Park City in the summer, you know about Deer Valley’s concerts! Prices are GREAT and they get big names. While it was recently announced that Deer Valley will no longer be hosting Park City Institutes’ Park City’s St. Regis Concert Series/Bright Nights, Big Stars, do not fret - Deer Valley will still have music this summer! The resort was recently acquired and it's simply producing a concert series on its own. Side note: Park City Institute will likely have pop up shows this summer.
Back to Deer Valley… The six-week, 17-concert series will feature 13 shows at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater and four shows at St. Mary’s Church.
Tickets go on sale on April 17 @ 10AM, so mark your calendars!
Did we mention outside food and drinks ARE PERMITTED? If you don’t have the time to make a picnic or stop at the store, the venue sells drinks and food from the grill.
If you pick up reserved tickets, chairs are provided. Otherwise, you can bring your own (need to be under 10”). You’ll be sitting outside on a lawn, so whatever makes you most comfortable.
Performances are 2 hours (plus a 20 minute break). Free parking.
We recommend: Arrive early, bring a blanket, your favorite snacks (and booze). Gates open at 5:30PM – early arrivals get the best spots!

Vail Resorts truly changed the business in the ski/snowboard world. In days past, an avid skier would have to buy multiple day lift passes and/or season passes at several mountains. Now, you can buy a single pass that grants you access to multiple mountains all around the world. This year marks the 10th year anniversary of the Epic pass. With success, comes competition. In a joint venture, Aspen Skiing Company and KSL Capital Partners are introducing the Ikon Pass via Alterra Mountain Company, new for the 2018/2019 season.
What does this mean exactly?
If you ski/snowboard, it means a lot. It means choosing between some of the best mountains in the world (or splurging and buying both passes).
How much?
Pricewise, they are similar – $899/adult. See below for specifics.
If I am just going to get one, which one should I buy?
Well, that depends. Let’s concentrate on Park City first.
Epic Pass – Unlimited access to Park City Mountain, the largest mountain in the US
Ikon Pass – 7 days at Deer Valley + 7 days total at Alta/Snowbird
It comes down to which mountains you prefer (or where you live). Both passes offer great access to resorts in Utah, Colorado, and California.

Up to seven days at 46 additional resorts (too many to list): Colorado’s Telluride; 30 European resorts in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria; six resorts in the Canadian Rockies; nine resorts in Japan
Ikon Pass – 26 Destinations
Unlimited access to 12 resorts: Colorado – Steamboat, Winter Park, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain; California – Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear, June Mountain; Vermont – Stratton; West Virginia – Snowshoe; Canada – Tremblant and Blue Mountain

If you’ve spent any amount of time in a ski town, you know that “après ski” is part of the culture. It literally translates to “after ski” in French. The Park City après scene is extensive. From quick drop-ins to elegant dine-ins, there is no shortage of availability (definitely sometimes space) in Park City. The only question is how to navigate when you’re visiting or new to town.
Below are some of our favorite spots by location.
Main Street
High West Distillery
www.highwest.com
703 Park Ave. Park City, UT 84060, (435) 649-8300
The world’s only ski-in/ski-out distillery, this is the most famous spot in Park City. If you like whiskey, then this is definitely for you! Not to mention, it makes nearly everyone’s list for World’s Best Après-Ski. Order the Chicken Schnitzel. For cocktails, check out the Old Fashioned Old Fashioned. Otherwise, grab a whiskey sampler.
No Name Saloon
www.nonamesaloon.net/
447 Main St, Park City, UT 84060, (435) 649-6667
Another local favorite (and nightly hotspot), you cannot go wrong here. If there’s a sporting game/event, you’ll find plenty of TV’s to watch it on. The décor is reason itself to visit – we won’t spoil it for you. They have a stellar (heated) patio. Grab the buffalo burger. There’s also shuffleboard...
1345 Lowell Ave, Park City, UT 84060, (435) 649-8111
According to the brand new chef, the menu creation/concept was to make people come for the food, not just the skiing. It’s essentially upscale bar food. The menu ranges from ahi tuna salad to Kobe beef burgers.
Pig Pen Saloon
www.thepigpensaloon.com/new/
1415 Lowell Ave, Park City, UT 84060, 435) 655-0070
The name is fitting - think sports bar, but more rustic. They advertise a shirt and a shot for only $10. Grab the house Bloody Mary. Food is mostly under $10. It’s a casual/easy spot.
4000 Canyons Resort Dr, Park City, UT 84098, (435) 615-8080
The menu is fantastic. The service is top notch. The food is incredible. While a little pricy, it is definitely worth visiting. When we went, they happened to have a live band taking requests. GREAT cocktails.
3855 Grand Summit Dr, Park City, UT 84098, (435) 615-8068
Great views and location. It’s perfect for the whole family. It’s a gastropub with a bit of southwestern flair. Depending on the weather, it can be fun to sit outdoors. Enjoy the Kalua Pig Nachos or Beef Bourguignon. Try the Apple Gin Spirit or The Jalapeno-Pomegranate Margarita.
2300 Deer Valley Dr E, Park City, UT 84060, (435) 940-5760
It’s the St. Regis, let’s call it “polished.” Take the funicular to the restaurant and take in some of the best views in Deer Valley. Order the 7452 Mary (High West 7000 vodka with a wasabi-celery espuma, cayenne pepper, and black lava salt). Fun fact – 7452 is the altitude of the bar. Around 5:30PM they have a champagne sabering demonstration on the terrace. Don’t miss it.
The Après Lounge
9100 Marsac Ave., Park City, UT 84060, (435) 604-1300
It’s Veuve Clicquot at the Montage Hotel. It’s a “Yurt” (essentially a circular, collapsible structure – just look for the bright yellow tent). It’s decadence at its finest. Enjoy the bubbly and caviar (amongst other gourmet options). Glitzy.
Pricing: $32 glass/$159 bottle yellow label, $39/$196 rose.
Park City already feels like a town out of a storybook. NOW ADD THE HOLIDAYS. You simply cannot beat it. Park City essentially turns into It's a Wonderful Life! 💫
On Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 5:30PM, bring the kiddos and watch Santa ride down Town Lift on his sleigh! Afterwards, little Tom and Suzy can tell St. Nick what they want for Christmas - and also grab a photo (assuming they are on the nice list)! This is one of Park City's favorite traditions. There will be HOT CHOCOLATE, COOKIES, CHRISTMAS CAROLS, and MAGIC! Don't miss this enchanting event!
Location: 📍 Town Lift, Town Lift Plaza, 825 Main Street, Park City, UT
(Santa will also be strolling around before the event)
Park City Mountain Resort is open. But with no snow, where can I ski/ snowboard? ⛷🤔🏂
We've been glued to the weather report too. Promises of snow keep fading into memories of fall. It was going to hit big on November 27, then November 29... now we're just praying that it hits December 3! We remember waking up to snow on September 22 -- half excited and half nervous for what was in store this winter. Now we’re COMPLETELY ready for it.
Fortunately, there are a few runs & lifts currently open:
Open Lifts & Runs
> Payday
Homerun Lower (Green)
Turtle Trail (Green)
Lower Crescent (Blue)
> First Time
> Saddleback Express
Meadow Way (Green)
Kokopelli (Blue)
Painted Horse (Blue)
> High Meadow
> The Cabriolet
> Frostwood Gondola
> Red Pine Gondola
The snow is all machine-made. However, we are impressed with what they've been able to do! FYI - hours are the same: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Regular lift prices: ADULTS (13-64) $115, CHILDREN (5-12) $74, SENIORS (AGES 65+) $79. Shoot us a note for discounted tickets.
Park City Mountain, the largest ski/snowboard resort in the world, is finally opening!
Opening Days:
PCMR - Thursday, November 23, 2017 (Thanksgiving Day)
Canyons - Wednesday, November 25, 2017
While both mountains were scheduled to open earlier, the ski gods decided it would be best to postpone a week. Given the relatively warm weather in the last few days, it is understandable (same issue they encountered last year).
As it gets colder and colder in Park City, moose will start popping up more and more. Whether on the golf course or on Main Street, it is always a good idea to keep your eyes peeled.
Here are 10 facts about these fun creatures!
The term moose means one who eats twigs.
Male moose are known as “bull moose.”
Female moose are called “cow moose.”
Baby moose are “calf moose.”
To maintain its weight, a moose must eat almost 10,000 calories (they are herbivores so this is hard to do)!
Moose are MASSIVE. A full-grown moose can be 5-8 ft and weigh 1,200 pounds!
Bull moose “bellow” to lure cow moose during mating season.
Moose rely on their sense of smell (they have poor eyesight).
Bull moose shed their antlers from December to March (which can weigh almost 40 pounds) - AND YES, they use their antlers when fighting.
The life span of a moose is 15-25 years.
Moose can swim.
Moose can run 35 miles per hour.
MOOSE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. Exercise extreme caution when encountering these creatures. On October 23, 2017, a women was trampled near Jeremey Ranch by a female moose (See http://fox13now.com/2017/10/23/woman-trampled-by-a-moose-injured-badly-near-jeremy-ranch/) .
The pictures below were taken by guests and members of the team at Elevation Lodges. Again, we don’t recommend getting this close! Please let us know if you have any awesome MOOSE photos we can use!
Park City just beat out Breckenridge to reclaim the world record for longest shot ski! Well what on earth is a shot ski?
Jump into a bar on Main Street and chances are you’ll see a ski with small cupholders on it. What is this you ask? The infamous SHOT SKI!
While most people assume skis are solely for the mountains, they actually have another purpose. For those growing up in ski towns, it’s a way of life. Some locals describe the experience as a team sport, while others believe it to be a celebration. Either way, if you are attempting a shot ski with others - make sure you finish your shot!
WHAT IS IT ALREADY? Simply a ski with shot glasses placed equidistant apart.
HOW DO I DO IT?: Each person lines up to a shot glass, and a shot is poured. On the count of three, everyone lifts the ski to their face and takes the drink concurrently. Thus, if you don’t finish it, it’s going to be spilled all over you.
We definitely recommend trying it at least once (for those over the age of 21)! It’s a Park City experience that you will not forget!
Difficulty: Moderate (though many natives claim easy)
Location: Park City, Utah (7 mins from downtown - put “Mid Mountain Trail, Park City, UT 84060″ into Google Maps)
Distance: 2.2 Miles
Elevation: 900 ft
Time: Approx 1.5 hours
Type: Out & Back
This hike is a local favorite. Many tourists do not know about it, so it is frequently very quiet. It is a great place to hike, jog, walk the dog, think, listen to your favorite podcast, etc.
Be forewarned: the trail is ALL uphill. However, once you reach the top you’ll have incredible views of Park City and it will all be worth it!
Date: September 7, 2017
Time: 4:30PM
The hike definitely works your legs. Put on some good music, drink a lot of water, and make sure to keep your eyes opened. The hike is incredible. You’re in a dense forest one minute, an open field in the next, even occasionally weaving through tree branches at some points.
On the way up a group of guys were on their way down and provided words of encouragement. One was a trainer and encouraged taking breaks to stretch. A short while later I encountered two girls on their way down who said they were feeling a new sense of accomplishment.
Keep your eyes peeled. I saw a fox at the end of the hike.
Date: October 23, 2016
Time: 10:30AM
This hike is definitely good on the legs and glutes. I encountered nine people on the trail (and four dogs). Everyone was friendly; however, folks going downhill seemed much happier than those still on the incline.
The way up was a bit of a struggle. A kind man stopped to chat for a bit. I explained I was more out of shape than I thought. His words of encouragement: “That’s why you do it! Keep it up!”
I spoke to one girl and “she’s done hiking Park City without proper hiking boots.” Not bad advice.
Park City is truly a beautiful town. This hike is different every day. What you feel, what you see, what you experience - it’s always unique.
We had some guests who were fortunate enough to see a baby moose with its mother last week!
