Après Ski - Best Spots in Park City!

If you’ve spent any amount of time in a ski town, you know that “après ski” is part of the culture. It literally translates to “after ski” in French. The Park City après scene is extensive. From quick drop-ins to elegant dine-ins, there is no shortage of availability (definitely sometimes space) in Park City. The only question is how to navigate when you’re visiting or new to town.

Below are some of our favorite spots by location.  

Main Street

The world’s only ski-in/ski-out distillery, this is the most famous spot in Park City. If you like whiskey, then this is definitely for you! Not to mention, it makes nearly everyone’s list for World’s Best Après-Ski. Order the Chicken Schnitzel. For cocktails, check out the Old Fashioned Old Fashioned. Otherwise, grab a whiskey sampler.

Another local favorite (and nightly hotspot), you cannot go wrong here. If there’s a sporting game/event, you’ll find plenty of TV’s to watch it on. The décor is reason itself to visit – we won’t spoil it for you. They have a stellar (heated) patio. Grab the buffalo burger. There’s also shuffleboard...

According to the brand new chef, the menu creation/concept was to make people come for the food, not just the skiing. It’s essentially upscale bar food. The menu ranges from ahi tuna salad to Kobe beef burgers. Pig Pen Saloon

The name is fitting - think sports bar, but more rustic. They advertise a shirt and a shot for only $10. Grab the house Bloody Mary. Food is mostly under $10. It’s a casual/easy spot.

The menu is fantastic. The service is top notch. The food is incredible. While a little pricy, it is definitely worth visiting. When we went, they happened to have a live band taking requests. GREAT cocktails.

Red Tail Grill

Great views and location. It’s perfect for the whole family. It’s a gastropub with a bit of southwestern flair. Depending on the weather, it can be fun to sit outdoors. Enjoy the Kalua Pig Nachos or Beef Bourguignon. Try the Apple Gin Spirit or The Jalapeno-Pomegranate Margarita.

Deer Valley

It’s the St. Regis, let’s call it “polished.” Take the funicular to the restaurant and take in some of the best views in Deer Valley. Order the 7452 Mary (High West 7000 vodka with a wasabi-celery espuma, cayenne pepper, and black lava salt). Fun fact – 7452 is the altitude of the bar. Around 5:30PM they have a champagne sabering demonstration on the terrace. Don’t miss it.

The Après Lounge

It’s Veuve Clicquot at the Montage Hotel. It’s a “Yurt” (essentially a circular, collapsible structure – just look for the bright yellow tent). It’s decadence at its finest. Enjoy the bubbly and caviar (amongst other gourmet options). Glitzy.   Pricing: $32 glass/$159 bottle yellow label, $39/$196 rose.
