What a beautiful thing to be changed! How strange, I do not know how I am changed but I know I cannot be the same ever again
Hate is not the opposite of love. In hate there is passion, there is feeling, intention, choice, desire, so is there also in love. The death of love lies in complacency, indifference, stagnancy, numbness.
So tell me how much you hate me, yell and fight and kill but
Do not leave me. Do not forget me.
Earth asks of the Autumn as she settles her goldenness, adorning the trees with painted light and crystal, “How can you live like this? In the bareness, in the quiet? In my stillness and pain?”
Autumn smiles in her gentle caress
“Is there any other way to live?”
Stillness is not stagnancy. In stillness there is quiet and in that quiet there is change. And it is love.
“How would you like me to hold you, dear? With the gentleness of the wind in the last hours of the night? With the warmth of my hands in the sand that day? With the quietness, the door closing behind me? How can I hold you?”
September speaks to August in her last days
The wind is whispering again and she’s traveling with the changing season, seeing the summer to its resting place and welcoming the fall gently to the present
In the embrace of the fog, my soul finds peace.
Nothing is more filled with love than growing things that live on their own. A forest is a shrine of living
And August looked into September and watched the birds rustling in the autumn trees and the evening sun matching the colors of the leaves and she said nothing but as she watched it became known that what she was seeing belonged to love
What do I do? What do I do with it all. Maybe we have never been apart in a thousand lifetimes. Maybe I have always had to let you go in every universe.
You say “hello” and I say something normal like “nice to meet you” but in fact my heart yells “we were never strangers! You and I!” Suddenly I know that I have seen you in every reflection of light in water and every person who has ever been kind and every run down stone path and every growing thing that has ever known love. And you ask me my name
I look at you across the room and I am crushed by the weight of the beautiful mundane that surrounds your soul. You stir your coffee with a fork because the spoons are dirty. I love you.
Somehow, my hands tremble when they hold the things that i love and my heart stirs as though it is not held by flesh and bone. I think it is beautiful to be changed.
