Sooo, i rewatched ATLA...and had to do this. I had a lot of fun thinking of some basic concepts for an AU so far! The Airbender - Waterbender - Non bender Main Trio wasn't even on purpose, i just honestly think it fits them each the most. I really wanted to play with the idea of the Avatar being your everyday most average guy ever. He has never bended a day in his life, he's got no natural talent either and just got thrown into this for some reason. He doesn't even have any physical skill and is lowkey a loser. Your new Avatar commutes like an hour on public transportation to his 9 to 5 and got 'near Republic City' or something in his bio on instagram. Then he meets with his little sister to make dumb tiktoks and play video games with her. Who is better for this role than Makoto Naegi, mister average guy?

Considering his Hope & Luck Talent, and also his wonderful selfless and strong personality, he's actually the perfect fit. He just doesn't know that yet (& lacks the other skills)

Since we don't really know how the world is after TLOK, i'm only going off by what i remember of ATLA and TLOK, just trying to make it more modern? idk. there's at least 2 avatar generations between him and Korra.

this is all really rough, but i'll be working on some more ideas for other characters soon as well. i had a lot of fun thinking abt this at work lol!
