The Final Post Response (6)
The three post in which intrigued me most to repost were Nostalgia, Liberation, and Comfort. All three post had their own unique touch, but ended up all relating to one another in various senses at the end. In nostalgia her keyword was comfort, she then went on and explained her space and compared it with other reading in which we have done in class such as: Boyers and Bachelards readings, as she describe her place and explained how with different climates the illumination of her space changed and then became magical reminded me of a utopia, because she pictured her place as a fairy tale and a magical place,in which we know don't really exist, but we can create our own personal spaces and our own personal utopias, I do it myself. Then with Liberation she also explains her own meaning of it and how she sees it, she goes on and shares her perspective and how she has seen her space throughout the semester evolve, she has analyzed and came to a conclusion that in downtown Chico there is a lot of space of liberation because one is free to do as we please with just simple restraints. She then makes a connection to letters of Abelard and Heloise in which I became intrigued because within that text there is not much liberation, there is instead confinement, but she then collaborated on why and how she saw that occur and develop through her observation of her space.Lastly, Comfort; I also choose this post to reblog since it seem to feel compatible with the other ones in which I also reblogged and also with myself and how I feel with my own space personally. As she explained of all the times and all emotions in which she felt at the end of the day her space was “the space,” in which made her feel safe and happy regardless of what her day consisted of, just like mine, I too can always arrive to my space after a stressful day and can simply relax and feel comfortable, free, liberated in my own utopia, or my fairy tail location after I illuminate all the candles around. All post to what I realized at the end feel that their spaces are a utopia or space in which they can set themselves free from whatever is occurring to them throughout the day, each space portrays each persons personal castle of liberation and comfort. Just as Fletcher always spoke of each space provoking certain emotions or behavior. For all these people(students) their space always end up portraying a place of freedom as previously stated. As I too analyzed it seemed as if for everyone whatever they did they felt confined like when they went to work, school or simply another place. It related to Abelard and Heloise, in the sense of being confined, incapable to do what they want to do, they can't express themselves, but the minute the arrive to their destination space those emotions are gone and unwinded and then transformed into just tranquility.

The Belvoir Fortress
A key term from this semester that best characterizes my space is comfort. Centennial Plaza makes me feel comfort because I can escape from reality when I visit it. This reminds me of Bachelard’s “Corners,” where he talks about these corner spaces that we happen to have all of our thoughts...
Through this past semester I have paid attention to the space of downtown Chico and have concluded that the word that signifies my area is “Liberation.” The reason why I chose this word because the meaning of liberation holds many different meanings. But for this case I feel liberation means that...
The keyword that best describes my space is the word “comfort”. In the crazy world that has been my final semester in Chico my living room was the one area where I could escape to and relax. It was my safe haven to come back to after a busy shift at work, a stressful day at school or a fun night...
The Bedroom, My Bedroom- Post 6
My bedroom a place plotted on a map that is both public yet a private space just like Foucault, in spaces or when we learned about maps. This space is my own utopia, it’s my perfect world here, I’m free, I have freedom, I can do as I please and you can too if you come with me. My bedroom is like Boethius, I can sit there and speak to philosophy (myself, my own thoughts). My space to me represents freedom. In here you too can sit and observe at the corners of each space just like in Bachelard, Corners, we can sit and daydream together. Unless you'd like to simply sit and listen to the sounds of the music I might be playing or perhaps the outdoors or any other conversation taken place within my space or just out my door, but maybe not, maybe we can just sit and smell the burn of a candle melting its wax and spreading around the room its scent, or maybe just lay in the stillness and live in the motion it is all up to you, but here you are free and that won’t change. This space overall resonates with keywords such as:freedom, peace, and self-being but to texts we’ve read it’s more compatible with is Foucault, Spaces. The reason in which I choose Foucault is because, he (Foucault) focus most about spaces and what each of them represent and or do, and I feel that my space as I mentioned early is a utopia and he speaks of utopias within his text.
