“Oh? Well maybe he has a point as well. The idea of moving to a place that’s totally quiet sounds like a dream.”
“It is. It’s...there’s not a way to describe the next level of peace when you first experience something like that.”
“You know, sometimes I think Thoreau had a point. Maybe we should all just drop everything to go live in the middle of the woods.”
“You sound like my boyfriend.”
lucianoxxrossi:
“Ah! Porca miseria! Now-a you tell me this? Is that why you’re-a fucking yelling at me! Because you need me? Have you ever thought how I’d feel ah? I can’t do this all by myself and it would be nice to have you with me on this!” Luciano tried to reason, running a hand through his hair. Gripping his hands into fists he just looked at Elijah, unable to say anything back right away. It didn’t feel like it, Luciano knew there’d be some anger to this development but the reaction he got seemed so extreme even for him. “I-a didn’t know till a few days ago ah! What was I supposed to do! ‘Oh by the way there was a girl that I-a had sex with oh about 4 years ago, I might be a dad because of that.’ Is that what you want? I wasn’t even sure if I could be involved!” He shouted, a single tear finally rolling down his cheek. Growling his wiped at his eyes angrily. “What do you want Elijah? I have to do this, I have to take care of her. I-I have to do this, I missed out on so much already. I want to do this. You don’t have to stay, you don’t have to help me. I don’t blame you…” A loud hiccup left him as he tried to hold back tears, his throat suddenly tight. “I’ve fucked up so much already, like you said I’m a drunk, I smoke, I run away when things get hard. I’m a fucking wild animal pretending to be human! Do you not think about how hard all of this is for me ah? You grew up in this world, you don’t jump out of your skin when a tv suddenly turns on!” He yelled, more so at himself than Elijah. “I’m just trying to do the right fucking for once in my pathetic life! Clearly I’ve ruined the two people who have meant the most to me in life.” Luciano felt like he was screaming, his words becoming harder and harder to say without jumbling them all together. “I cut ties off with one of my best friends because I thought she hated me and I make your life so fucking difficult.” The panic started to set in again and it gripped his chest tightly, he suddenly couldn’t breathe all over again. “I’m worth fucking nothing….”
“Stop, stop, stop!” Elijah yelled, backing away suddenly, his back hitting the fridge. He hadn’t expected himself to break in this way. He expected to fly off the handle and go full wolf on the one person that truly mattered in his life, but here he was, crying in his own kitchen and on the verge of having a full breakdown. He sunk down, taking magnets with him, to a sitting position against the fridge, pressing back against the cold metal and closing his eyes. He put his hands over his face and tried to slow his breathing. “Luce, what the fuck are we doing?” He asked, much quieter than before. He couldn’t look at his love; couldn’t bear seeing him right now after hearing the change in Luciano’s voice. “Go. Go to her. Be there for her. Please forget me. Do what you need to do and I’ll--I’ll still be here when you get home at night. I just...I can’t do this like this. I can’t be like this with you. I’m so--so angry. All the time. I think at myself and I’m taking it out on you. Please. Per favore.” He sniffled, removing his hands from his eyes and, looking up at Luciano, openly cried now. “You mean the world to me. You--you--tu sei il m-mio mondo. Come here?” Elijah beckoned for his love to come closer, recognizing the panic and working on calming himself to start calming his boyfriend. “Please?” he mumbled, opening his arms for Luciano. “You need to breathe.”
lucianoxxrossi:
All Luciano wanted to do was fight back, to attack the man before him but he was trying so hard to control himself. To just spit back the same venom that was being thrown at him. “Because I got scared! I thought she didn’t love the feral side of me. So I ran away like I-a always do!” He yelled. Shaking his head as he walked away he stood in the door way. “I don’t want to do that! I don’t want to just give up on her! She needs me, especially if she-a got my feral gene. She and her mother can’t do this by themselves.” He said simply. Gripping his hands into fists he hissed out, “Fottiti…” Luciano just shook his head at Elijah’s words. How could he make it anymore clear that he wasn’t leaving. “If you hate everything I do so much why are you fighting me ah? If I’m such a drunk why the fuck do you care if I leave?”
Elijah was close to his breaking point, his pulse ringing in his ears. “I can’t do this by myself either, Luciano. I’m a wreck without you and I’ve been a wreck without you! I need you as much--more--than they do right now. I fucking need you.” Elijah couldn’t believe the words he was hearing. He couldn’t believe that Luciano wasn’t leaving him when he so clearly seemed to want to. “Sono inamorato di te!” he snapped. It was some of the only Italian he had retained in his many little lessons with Luciano. It was the most important to him, of course he would remember that. “I don’t fucking hate everything you do, I just hate that you keep so much from me! You lie to me by omitting things! Why can’t you understand that?”

lucianoxxrossi:
“I won’t kill you but I’ll bite you’re-a fucking hand off if you touch me!” He was panicked now, Elijah closing in on him like this was spiking up his anxiety as he could barely focus on the fact that deep down he loved this man, and not like someone about to hurt him. He kept trying to put as much space between them as possible. “Elijah…I don’t want to hurt you.” He growled lowly, yellow eyes watching his every move. His heart felt like it was shattering as Elijah tore him apart. “I do know her mother! Her mother is the fucking reason I can talk to you! She took me in, her mother took care of me and loved me for me, she wasn’t always trying to change me! She learned Italian just so she could talk to me! I can here alone, and knowing zero english. She offered me some place warm and friendship.” The wolf tried to reason, but his back hit the wall and he couldn’t breath anymore, his chest heaving as he tried to not go feral on Elijah, his fangs growing in size as he stared at the wolf before him. “No she’s not. She was turned just-a like you! What does that have to do with anything huh?” He barked, ducking quickly to the side and walking into the kitchen to keep the space between them. “I’m-a not going anywhere Eliajh! I’m not leaving you, I’m-a just going to be a man and take care of the child! We’re-a working on how much I am to be involved right not.”
“Bite my hand off? You wouldn’t dare,” Elijah growled, trying to breathe the anger away. His chest felt tight and he could almost feel himself reverting to the way they would handle spats when the were both wild. They spoke with teeth first then. His eyes were yellow now, he could almost feel the shift that had taken place. “If she was so good to you, why’d you leave her? If she’s so great, why don’t you go back?” A part of him knew this was just him spewing his own insecurities, projecting them onto Luciano. But a larger part was ripping him apart with unchecked rage, and that happened to be the louder part of him. “You still don’t know her like you know me, and you’re acting like you’re willing to give it all up for her. For them both.” He turned, following to the kitchen doorway. “Don’t walk away from me when I’m talking to you,” he snapped. “You can be a man and not have to take care of the kid. Lots of kids grow up with only one parent, you know. Why do you have to play the hero?” His heart was pounding in his chest. Again, Elijah stepped forward toward Luciano. “Why is that your role to play, time and time again? I’ve already lost you. Don’t let me lose you again.”
elijahmcmanus:
“How long, Luciano?” Elijah said, voice shakin more than he expected it to. “How long have you known? I swear to God Himself if you tell me it was more than point two milliseconds before you told me, I’ll—I’ll hit you.” Elijah had to take a breath to steady himself, his eyes flickering yellow. He blinked back the tears that still threatened to spill and willed himself to remain calm. The anger he’d been harboring since the eclipse threatened to bubble right out of him, directed at his love in the worst possible way. “Luciano,” he said, voice still wavering. “What does this mean for us? You’re running off to play daddy, what, until you get bored? While I sit and wait and pretend to not feel like the other man here? I won’t have it like that. What are we doing?”
The threat of getting hit and growled at sent Luciano into defense mode. Standing up slowly he lowered his head and snarled loudly. He was a feral animal at heart and wasn’t afraid to act like one if he needed to. His blue eyes had turned a sickly yellow color as he growled for his own safety. Putting the coffee table between them. “I knew a few days ago ah? Is that what you want!” He barked, eyes never leaving Elijah. “I swear to go Elijah if you lay a hand on me it’ll-a be the last thing that you do!” He hated threatening the other wolf like this but it had to be done, he wouldn’t have been safe otherwise. Shoulders lifting up to make himself look bigger as he watched him. “I’m not going to get board! She is my child and we-a can’t change that! I don’t know Elijah!” He shouted, tears welling up in his own eyes as the situation began to dawn on him again. “You-a think I’m ready to be a dad? To-to do what-a was done to me onto someone else? I-a know what I’m doing. I am going to take care of her and-a make sure she knows she has a daddy who-a loves her. What are you going to do Elijah?” Luciano was at his wits end right about now, ready to pounce and defend himself if he had to but he also was ready to breakdown, he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing.
“And you didn’t tell me sooner.” It wasn’t a question, it was an accusation. Elijah couldn’t hold back the snarl that ripped from his throat, baring his teeth in defense. He stood from where he was still seated on the couch, shaking with anger. “The last thing I do? Are you seriously threatening me with death right now, Luciano?” He moved forward, sidestepping the coffee table between them. “You’ll kill me or what? No, you’re not ready to be a father. If we’re being honest you’re still a fucking drunk, try as I might to curb that habit. You don’t know this girl. You don’t know her mother. You know me though. And you’re willing to give me up for some perfect family you barely know?” As the last sentence tumbled from his mouth, hot, angry tears leaked out, rapidly sliding down Elijah’s cheeks. “You aren’t ready to be a father. You’re feral. Is she?” His voice broke on the last word and he halted in advancing on Luciano and shook his head.
elijahmcmanus:
Elijah flinched away from Luciano’s touch. His mind was entirely blank, trying to process everything at the same time. His one true love, his first real love, was involved with someone else in the strangest way possible. He was a father to someone else’s child. Elijah had had dreams of finding him and raising children together. They had planned their lives together and it felt that everything was falling out beneath his feet. “You…you…” he mumbled, still staring at Luciano. “H-how? We’ve been–we were–I just,” he fumbled for words, feeling tears springing to his eyes and blinking them away. “Please be joking. We’ve been together nearly that long, Luce.”
Luciano’s heart lurched and he sat back, flinching away from Elijah. Icy eyes just staring at the ground. “It was before I-a met you Elijah. I was 21 when I left and a few months later I stumbled upon your town.” The wolf tried, not daring to look at him. “I didn’t know about her until a little while ago too…I’m just as shocked and surprised as you.” Luciano sighed, standing up and opening a window, he lit a cigarette and took a deep drag blowing the smoke out of the window. “There’s nothing we can do now though, she’s gone without a father for long enough.” The wolf sighed, blowing out more smoke to calm himself. “I’ve run away from things for long enough.”
“I’m not…I’m not asking you to do this with-a me. You-a don’t have to.”
“How long, Luciano?” Elijah said, voice shakin more than he expected it to. “How long have you known? I swear to God Himself if you tell me it was more than point two milliseconds before you told me, I’ll—I’ll hit you.” Elijah had to take a breath to steady himself, his eyes flickering yellow. lucianoxxrossi:
No part of Luciano was giving off the hint he was joking. “I swear Elijah, I didn’t know. She couldn’t get ahold of me for four years…so there was no way I could’ve known.” He whispered, blue eyes looking at Elijah desperately. “But I have to be there now. I can’t just keep letting her grow up without a father.” The wolf whined, like an animal who had been hurt. He reached a timid hand to touch Elijah’s knee cautiously. “You don’t have to be involved if you-a want. Arabella is a beautiful little girl, and she’s so perfect and funny and everything I’m not.” Luciano gave a weak smile, “It’s hard to believe I-a had any part in it.” Icy eyes looked at Elijah trying to read him, his hands shakily grasped for his lover hands as he held them, “Please say something.”
Elijah flinched away from Luciano’s touch. His mind was entirely blank, trying to process everything at the same time. His one true love, his first real love, was involved with someone else in the strangest way possible. He was a father to someone else’s child. lucianoxxrossi:
Their day was supposed to be relaxed, and it had been. Luciano was watching the tv with his lover in relative silence until Elijah decided to question where Luciano had been. It was a fair question and one that Luciano had been dreading. Pausing the show they were watching he moved his arm from around Elijah. “I’ve uh…met up with an old…friend.” That word didn’t even begin to describe just who Aliza was to him. “I had honestly forgot because it was so bad…” Luci whispered, chewing on his lip. “Four years ago I had stayed in this town when I came from Italy. I was ah…20 years old?” He said, not meeting Elijah’s eyes. “I only had-a one friend, and she still lives here…and well one thing lead to another and we were…” He stalled, moving his hands to interlock as he spoke, “A couple after a year. Then we had a falling out and I left.” The wolf bit, it still hurt to talk about that part of it. “And nothing’s happened, I promise my love. And she told me something I wasn’t prepared for…” He gulped and continued to look away. “Please don’t get mad il mio re, but I am…a father.” He said quickly.
“A friend?” Elijah said, relief washing over him, sweeping from his shoulders through his very core. “That’s a relief. I thought...I don’t know you just smelled like...Yeah.” He shook his head, grinning, laughing to himself. This was fine. Of course Luciano was allowed to meet up with friends. Elijah was disappointed in himself that he thought anything else. Of course Luciano wouldn’t--he froze. The smile on his face faded out of existence then reappeared. “You--I--what?” Elijah barked out a laugh and shook his head. “You’re joking. You’ve got to be joking, right?” He dissolved into a fit of silent laughs. “Luci, you’re joking. Right?” He scoured Luciano’s face for any hint of a joke and found none. Once more the smile faded. “Right?” he repeated, his mind going blank and voice softening. “Luci...”
@lucianoxxrossi;
“Babe?” Elijah asked quietly. “Can we talk?” He looked up at his love’s face from where he had his head resting against Luciano’s shoulder. “Not like a bad talk, just a question, I guess. Something like that.” He shifted back just enough to see Luciano’s face in full. “It’s just... we’ve just gotten together again and I’m beginning to never see you. Where are you always off to?” he asked, a small smile forced on his face. This wasn’t an interrogation by any means. He was honestly wondering why his boyfriend was becoming more and more sparse in his life, but he hadn’t yet pushed the subject. That was, until then.
@persephoneblackburn;
"Pretty sure my boyfriend would rather I not come home smelling like somebody else’s perfume.” Elijah laughed a little, taking another sip of his drink.
& persephoneblackburn;
“When the women arrive is usually when I flee as it is,” Elijah supplied with a chuckle. It wasn’t entirely wrong. He liked to avoid the advances of women, especially with a boyfriend who threatened to kill any possible love interest outside of himself.
@persephoneblackburn;
“Noted,” he replied, gently stirring the drink with his straw. “That means in a few hours, I should duck out,” he said with a half-smirk. He took a sip of the drink, leaning forward in his seat instead of raising it to himself, and noted the flavour wasn’t quite what he was expecting. That would earn her a nice tip later.
Eyes flickered up from the bartop as the door swung open. It was early friday evening, and while they had the occasional person pop in for a drink, most held off coming until well after eight when nightlife began to pick up. “ I’ll be right with you.” She called, moving quickly to finish wiping down the surface before moving toward the customer. “Pick your poison my friend.”
Elijah was alone tonight. He had no real reason to be; just was. Sliding into a seat at the bar, he offered a tight smile to the bartender. “Jack and coke, please,” he responded and leaned his head onto a hand. “How’s your night been so far?” he offered, looking to make some sort of small talk and just get his mind off things.
When The Night Met The Sun || Elijah&Luciano
“Aw, but I like your accent,” Elijah said with a mock pout. “It’s so… alluring. Sexy. Something like that.” He winked at Luciano and grinned. It was true, the accent was just one of the many things he had missed about his lover.
“It’s a funny situation for sure,” he agreed, nodding. He filled a plate of food for Luciano, bringing it to the table before going back to get one for himself.
“Can I ask…how long were you looking for me? The whole time or…I don’t doubt you, I just need to fulfill my curiosity, you know? I did everything I could to find you or at least your body, but I gave up. I gave up so much hope that I’d ever see you again, dead or alive. But you’re here and you’re alive and well and I–I’m just happy to see you.”
