Random thing I just thought about as I'm sitting down to write the 9th of August fic for Singapore (Aloysius) but I should preface to everyone that this is not going to be 100% accurate to the NDP this year because ONCE AGAIN YOUR GIRL DID NOT GET THE TICKETS- I mean for international readers you probably wouldn't like mind but there's a part of me that desires intensely to have accuracy... Oh well!

Okay wait adding onto this, I didn't wanna spam the tag game too much but right, on top of the new fic (I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT ALOYSIUS'S BIRTHDAY FIC HOLY SHIT), I'm in an experimental module in my writing classes now and I'm really lucky that we're allowed to do fanfics so of course I'll take the opportunity!!! When I thought about further exploring the relationship between Malaysia and Singapore, I thought really hard about it and I initially wanted to make this visual novel style game but then I was like: BRO I DON'T HAVE TIME- So that's why I am choosing to do this archive style thing with letters that Aloysius never sent starting from the World War 2 era and then letters he won’t send today plus some trinkets, photos, maybe some other random shit from over the years. It's a very physical piece and I'm really excited to do it [Actually this is still pending approval from my mentor but errrrr he'll probably agree to it- It's still writer-y enough...] I did initially think about doing something like that one book about emails I'll never send but that's a bit weird and then I'd have to create an interface and all and I didn't want to go through the trouble so yea- I did consider how I could share this with you guys so let me know your ideas. My current idea is to make a google site for this once it's done so hopefully I can do that. I'm really hyped for this project and it's really like both a love letter to hetalia and also a chance for me to push myself outside of the conventional writing form per say? Epistolary (aka letter-writing) isn't my typical style so this will be pretty fun to try out!

I'll update lol if this gets passed and the road to getting there so stay tuned :D

After 24 footnotes and 26 sources (not all used), I have finally finished this story!!! Honestly it was so much fun just writing all this and the fact I didn't really need to finish the short scenes I planned out made writing a lot less stressful overall hahahahhahahaa~ More yappity yap yap under the cut

I mean guys- I didn't even use all of them... Maybe I used 20? of them? Or so lah-

The anatomy is shite but it works guys, the story and feelings are the main things! (Anyways smth smth how from afar Haikal can't see Aloysius's eyes/pupils so that shows how Haikal doesn't really know what's going through Aloysius's mind)

(The real reasoning is I can't draw Aloysius's eyes on the tiny ass face I gave him-)

What should have been a design for a game version of Singapore turned into a full ass repeat of my pre-existing character sheet for this man-

As part of this experimental module my creative writing class is doing, we're allowed to choose a different medium (?) to showcase our writing and I'm highkey leaning now towards a game-ified (?) version of Hetalia on Singapore's history. So that's why recently I've been trying to find simpler styles so I can draw scenes easily to showcase it to the teacher.

This was done with my newly bought Languo watercolours (which highkey are quite good) and an older IKEA watercolour set hence the less vibrant colours (save for the face, I had to use alcohol markers and the apples were done with ballpoint pens)

Just some notes I wanted to make about Aloysius here

Yayyyyyyy more SEA-talia!!! This was honestly supposed to be a test of sorts to see if I could drawing a simpler style but really this is just me going: Screw it we ball on proportions soooooooo idk actually

I hate how Singapore's fingers turned out, why the hell are they so damn thinnnnnnnn~ (Scratch that I hate all their hands wtf was I on) Things about my Brunei OC (shocking ik):

– Human name is Aniq Amin bin Mohamed 

– His age ranges from 16-18 years old

– Short bean (he’s like 168cm) [Blud is still taller than me]

– Since there is no canon version of him, in my version, Brunei has short hair and tanned skin with green eyes 

– He typically is seen wearing a songkok and a sarong with loose pants [In this version I tried referencing their army's dress uniform plus the royal family's dress uniforms if that makes sense?I don't particularly like this iteration I drew so I might redo it]

– Own a kris which he occasionally brings out especially when greeting foreign dignitaries (NO HE DOESN’T HARM THEM) 

– According to Anoneko, Brunei’s development supposedly diverged at some point. In any case, until the 1900s (1906 precisely), Brunei and Singapore barely interacted. It was only when Brunei became controlled directly by the British administration that they began to see each other more often. 

– Closest to Singapore still because of their currency agreement and also because both are small asf.

– Was forced to work for Japan during WW2 but arguably compared to the other SEA countries (save for Thailand) given a bit more freedom. 

– Knows mainly Malay and English. He knows some Chinese but hardly uses it and for Japanese, he is more fluent in reading it than actually speaking it. 

– In my headcanons, most countries don’t follow the religion and Brunei is kind of the same but he still follows quite loosely. He doesn’t drink, choosing abstinence. This makes him the designated drunk wrangler unfortunately. (Especially on rare occasions Singapore drinks a bitttt too much.)

Aniq hasn't appeared in my fics though he's mentioned in passing I think by Singapore. I might do a little (happier?) fic on his relations with Singapore and Malaysia though considering Brunei nearly joined the federation but then backtracked (probably for the best) and went: Nope.

Okay so I've recently like "re-discovered" Twenty-One pilots and their latest album Breach has so many songs that are ✨ SINGAPORE coded✨ Bluddddd, what do you mean RAWFEAR is actually so coded for Singapore like genuinely the first time I listened to it and checked it with the lyrics my brain exploded with ideas.

Song's here and more rambles under the cut. I can't animate for the life of me despite taking a short course on it so I've decided to write it down. Also, if you do use it please credit my idea TnT (On another note, from here on out, Singapore will be called Aloysius) Whatever is on top in purple are the imageries I wanna convey just for reference.

[Introduction to the animatic: Title card as camera pans down to Aloysius preparing to begin his day and we can see his messy house, papers and clothes piled up behind him.] Raw fear Raw fear

[Transition of his jacket sweeping past the camera]

[Aloysius is on the train and it pans to his ankles where hands emerge from the ground wrapping around his legs.] Raw fear moves me, sounds of empty Uzis Life is just forever nipping heels, never slowing down Raw fear moves me, sounds of empty Uzis [Here, the hands yank him down into a dark space and we see Aloysius's shocked expression, image of him falling into the space as if in water] Life is just forever gripping feels, never slowing down

[Him at the podium talking to no one. He looks sheepish and looks away] You know what scares me? Nah, it's stupid [Camera cuts to showing a younger Aloysius looking uncomfortable while surrounded by faceless nations talking] You've met my fears, they're all regulars Wait, who's the new kid? You know what kills me? Not getting stronger And now I can't seem to sit still any longer [Here, Aloysius begins running towards...somewhere]

Somehow between basically scrambling myself to churn out this extra chapter (of 1212 words) after leaving it to rot in my documents for a** MONTH**, I’ve finally gotten it out in two days! Hurrah! Hope y’all enjoy it :D
