I know we make jokes about "if women wrote men the way men write women," but I am reading a book where the male main character's ball sack "tightened with bloodlust" so I think we might already be there

"Why don't authors write--"
They do. Just because your algorithm doesn't spoon-feed you that thing doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Whatever it is, authors somewhere are writing it.
I love how Historical Fiction authors have so many nuanced and varied depictions of different English monarchs, but then you get to Henry VIII and even the most sympathetic depictions are like "this guy was a whiny brat and terrible in bed."
RANDOM MEDIEVAL ROYAL DECIDING TO HAVE A MASSIVE FAMILY: I am sure this will have no negative longterm geopolitical consequences at all. 😃
"I deserve a little treat" I whisper as I order 3 new books whilst seated atop my throne of unread books...
Oh no you found my weakness moderately problematic Romance novels from the pre-smartphone era
The way modern culture rejects the idea of having duties to one another makes the skin crawl.
I think people often confuse the differences between responsible for and responsible to. And I think people have gotten really confused on what having boundaries actually means. Boundaries are good and important. Boundaries mean we're not responsible for other people's choices or behavior. Boundaries do not mean we don't have responsibilities to each other. We have a lot of responsibilities to other people. To treat them with kindness and respect, to show up for our jobs, to take care of our kids, to follow through on commitments. We have all kinds of responsibilities to each other. And we absolutely should stop pretending that self care, boundaries, etc means that we don't.

"Explaining books badly" but it's just me reading their actual blurbs.
sometimes the best writing advice is "just let it be bad." revolutionary. terrifying. but it works.
Different people like different books. 📚 SHOCKING, I know.
girl it’s just a 3 day trip, you do not need to bring your terracotta warriors 🙄
