What is the best #WHOREMEMBERS moment from Buffy?
gotta be ‘so angel’s on top again?’ or ‘there could be oil of some kind involved’ lol
in the entire buffyverse though it’s obviously
bangel x being freaks in front of dead bodies
The dead bodies don’t phase me, the hight difference gets me though.
her going on tipoes in ice skates(!!!!!!!!!!!!) is soooooooo
What parts specifically do you see as evidence guilt was a factor in Buffy's rehabilitation of Spike? I'm just curious because I also think it was, but it's never stated. I've also seen enough arguments that she just knows the soul makes him a different person, essentially.
I mean, the soul itself guilts her into forgiving Spike. How is she supposed to stay mad at him when he "got a soul for her"? It removes her right to anger and ignores her trauma, especially since, once he gets the soul, Spike never once acknowledges anything her put her through, instead saying things like "I have come to redefine the terms pain and suffering since I fell in love with you." How is that supposed to make her feel anything but guilty over "using him" and therefore making her feel like it's her responsibility to rehabilitate him?
Spuffy stans will wax lyrical about how Spike getting his soul is this big, romantic gesture that proves he's sorry and makes him entitled to Buffy and her love/forgiveness, but it's really just the supernatural equivalent of buying your partner flowers after hitting them. It's saying "You can't be mad at me because I made this loving gesture to show you how sorry I am". And Spike then keeps insisting that the soul is what Buffy wanted, when she literally never said that.
The narrative and writing also chooses to portray Buffy as the "monster" and her whole conversation with Holden in CWDP is about how badly she treated Spike, which is complete and utter bullshit. Buffy is written to feel guilt over her trauma-induced relationship, in which she was abused and mistreated, yet somehow Season 7 portrays her as the bad one.
So yeah, the whole final season pretty much works to guilt Buffy into forgiving Spike, whether it's through her own self-imposed blame, the presence of Spike's soul, Spike portraying himself as the wronged party and refusing to acknowledge or apologise for his actions and the narrative condoning all of it.

The theory is that Joyce smokes weed, and that's why she doesn't notice anything. She misses Buffy going out at night (actually, she doesn't notice anything that happens at night), having a robot boyfriend, trying to kill Xander, her house getting destroyed all the time etc
this is tooooo much lmfaooooo
since I read the theory about Joyce being stoned, everything just makes so much more sense to me
the theory about what 😭😭😭😭😭😭

bangel x being freaks in front of dead bodies
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (1997) dir. JIM GILLESPIE
What is it about Bangel that elevates them to OTP for you? I love them too and love hearing others talk about them 🫶
let me keep this short so I don’t spend all night typing but
my absolute favorite things about them is:
their undying love, no matter how much time passes between them, or how many new people come into their lives, their love never dies. there’s no buffy summers that doesn’t love angel and there’s no angel that doesn’t love buffy summers
their lives paralleling each other especially after angel leaves to his own show. the shot of angel after connor is taken to qortoth/buffy entering her catatonic state when dawn is taken fucks me upppppp. and I touch the fire and it freezes me, this isn’t real I just want to feel/I just want to feel something besides the cold whyyyy do they hurt me so
and ofc their general common goals. how inextricably connected their love is to The Good Fight…… I will end myself
like they truly are the red sauce that makes me crazy and hurt myself and others
Rest in peace to the incredible Anthony Stewart Head (20th February 1954 - 1st June 2026)
