Stop buying from Muji.

It’s being reported that Muji uses cotton produced by Uyghur Muslims in Chinese concentration and labor camps, specifically in Xinjiang. Obviously, the atrocities being done to the Uyghur Muslims are horrific, and a company profiting off of said atrocities is disgusting.

I know Muji is wildly popular on studyblr, but I’m asking you to think about real humans being forced into labor camps. As an average citizen, we only have two ways of imposing our power: by voting and by being deliberate with our money. Do not give Muji your money.

Do not support Muji. Do not support concentration camps. Do not support the violation of civil rights. Stay aware, read the news, and be a critical consumer.

But a good alternative to Muji is Sostern Grene. It's a chain but is still a privatly ( & family! ) owned business that has a strict code of conduct for their suppliers with regards to health & safety, forced labor, child labor, environment, animal welfare & denial of factory inspections. Their code of conduct can be found here :

If anyone else has any other ethical alternatives for stationary please let me know!!!

Yoseka Stationary is one of my personal faves right now! I just ordered a journal from them and was sooo tempted by all the other stuff they have, ranging from classic Japanese brands to small artists. they’re based in NYC and I live on the west coast but my package got delivered pretty quickly. everything is so high quality, and they’re family-owned. check them out!

1. Pack what you need only

- Don’t bring unnecessary books or things that you wouldn’t even use throughout the day.

2. Rent or share lockers

- Lockers are a great storage place for your books and stuff.

3.  Choose the right backpack

- Some backpacks may not be suitable for you and this causes you to strain yourself when carrying the backpack.

4. Organize your backpack

- Get rid of old work you don’t need and replace big heavy binders with lighter versions. 

5. Clean your bag out weekly

- This can help to reduce the clutter in your bag if you do it regularly.

Starting off the weekend productively! I spent the morning planning an essay, which I will aim to have written by lunchtime tomorrow, and I’m spending the afternoon working on my econometrics supervision work - both of these are due tomorrow!

so it’s currently 11:15 pm here in cali and i’m probably gonna be up until 1 am revising for this midterm tomorrow. this is the setup for tonight: my laptop, my hot water, basic pens and markers, my study guide, and my planner. sometimes even the most studious of us don’t prepare well enough beforehand and have to pull a late night, just don’t make a habit of it! but hey, y’all know i’m human and here’s proof, cause i still have two pages of this study guide to finish, wish me luck!!
