Removing someone from the Book of Life so it’s like they never existed was mentioned but never really followed up on in season 2…but I think that means it will play a role in season 3….

…and Metatron/Heaven will be trying to erase Crowley.

Without Crowley having existed, we wouldn’t have Aziraphale’s crisis of faith-at least not to the extent he’s had for two seasons. He would be far more malleable to what Heaven wants and boom-they get their Armageddon because there is no one out there that would have learned to love the Earth and humanity with him, and nobody out there that loves him in such a way that makes him realize it.

And we will need to see Aziraphale FINALLY choosing Crowley over heaven once and for all.
