âNo, a couple of weeks is fine. I wanted to order them early just in case.â She mentally checked it off her list and glanced at the letter. âYeah, the professor running it only takes like five students. But, I really want this. As much as I love being a bartender, itâs not what I want to do forever and I think maybe this is a little extra something that will get me going.â The suggestion about the mayor wasnât a bad one, maybe she could make one trip and kill two birds. âThatâs a good idea. Iâll definitely bring that up to her. But, your word means more than you think and I just want as much positive on my application as possible.â She smiled mischievously. âPlus, I want to know what youâll say about me.â
âWell, thatâs a good practice. You never know whatâs going to be in stock, especially with the new semester starting soon.â Elissa went to her computer and started to put in the order from Vidaâs books. She looked up when Vida confessed her desire for a spot in the class.  âVida, theyâd be a fool not to take you. Youâre one of the hardest workerâs I know. Even if this one thing doesnât work out, thatâll take you wherever you want to go.â She laughed.  âIâll write the letter, because Iâve got a thing or two to tell those professors, but Iâve half a mind to put it in a sealed envelope and deliver it myself.â She said, waving her finger in a joking scold.  âHere you are.â She said, handing the list back.  âThe books and my letter will be in by next Friday.â
