“There are more mecha, and more flight models, than you’ve seen or met yet.” Wing answered, carefully, field widening again to brush against, and then mesh with, Thundercracker’s, full of his own calm relaxation.
“You’re just new here. Mecha are likely curious.” he soothed. “They won’t harm you. Especially when you’re with me.”
A pause. “No one is judging you, Thundercracker.” he added. “If it’s too much, we can go back to our quarters, at any time. But I thought it would be nice for us to get a walk in.”
As long as they stayed on the ground, that was. Thundercracker didn’t know the air traffic rules, after all, and Wing was still concerned that he may try to hurt himself once airborne.
“Besides,” he added, jokingly, “I think they’re more interested in a Knight walking around.”
“I don’t care if they judge me, Wing.” He didn’t care if they harmed him either, but he knew Wing spoke the truth about them being harmless. There was a twitch of his wings && his optics flickered from the ground to the jet. “I was a noble, a Decepticon, && a slave. I’m used to judgment && stares. They can think what they will of that, I don’t care. However, I do care what they think of you.”
Thundercracker paused. “I... I don’t want to go back to our quarters. Not yet anyway.” His gaze moved from the jet to the ground again, tucking his wings closer to his frame. “I like our quarters,” he added. Mostly because Wing was there but that was neither here nor there. “But I’m getting restless.”
Wing had every right to be concerned for Thundercracker’s well being. There were thoughts lurking beneath his calm but again, a part of him didn’t want to ruin Wing that way. He was too good, too pure--Thundercracker didn’t want Wing to find him like that, to taint Wing.
“They aren’t the only ones interested,” Thundercracker murmured thoughtlessly, an attempt to change the subject without realizing. “You’re strange,” he added in order to save himself embarrassment. “I’d like to know more.”
